I'd pretty much guarantee it's going to. For starters, they've lost the Marvel Movie Momentum. Endgame and COVID killed that, and even though the D+ series are getting decent numbers, that likely won't translate to box office bucks.

Secondly, the only people that really give a damn about Shang Chi are the people that remember him from the '70s, and Marvel has rewritten his entire backstory to modernize it and "woke" it up. You're not going to draw a new audience without letting on as to what the new plotline is, and you're not going to pull in the old guard (like me) with the new wokeness. On top of that, you've got the star shooting his mouth off about representation, Feige bowing and scraping, and the hordes of SocJus Bluechecks waiting in the wings to go on record about how the movie failed because everyone else out there is racist.

Yeah, it's going to be a grade-A shitshow.

Shit you not, he goes on record saying he regrets it, but not for the reasons you'd think. Because of the flap over the Shang Chi actors bitching about the lack of Asian representation he's pontificating over how they could have gotten a non-huwite actor/actress in the part - and apparently dodge the whole "we can't cast a Tibetan Ancient One or we'll lose money in China" aspect at the same time.

The wokeness don't stop, that's for sure...

I don't know if I'd necessarily call it "Meigs Field"-level of "tear shit up in the night so nobody could stop it from happening", but I do find it mildly amusing that they virtue signal it up in public in broad daylight, but then cover it up (badly, I might note) under the cover of night. They know damn good and well if they had the work done in the daytime that the wokies would have crawled out of the woodwork to pitch a bitch about it.

Honestly? Not only is she a laughing stock because of her stupid "activist athlete" stance, she came in third on the team, with a throw that was nearly six meters behind the first place finisher. Bitch be salty AF, yo.

Can't wait for her to try and pull that shit at the Olympics. There's a blanket ban on any form of protesting during the event. Five bucks says she tries it and gets sanctioned, and then tries to shoot her mouth off about how the IOC is rayciss and infringing on her freedom of speech.

Oh, I'm not saying the hobby wasn't already inclusive - any RPG, by default, is as inclusive as the GM wants it to be. It doesn't need "combat wheelchairs" or non-racial bonuses, or any of the other bullshit that the wokies are trying to shoehorn into it.

The sad part of it all is that the parasites just don't know how to create their own material and succeed with it. Nothing prevents them from knocking together their own "inclusive" junk that isn't some sort of virtue-signaling circle-jerk, but they just can't. They lack the originality of thought and imagination to come up with plausible, internally-consistent material that doesn't reek of being derivative, propaganda-based garbage, so they co-opt existing, popular material and ride on its coat-tails.

I love how the majority of the replies are either "lol Bioware sucks and hasn't had a good game in over a decade, fuck off" or "you're arguing against a strawman, fuck off". Dim bulbs like this asshole are exactly the reason why Bioware is in the shitter and just further go to prove that while gaming should be inclusive, gatekeeping people like him out should be enforced.

Any woman willing to try and and work her way into a position by "assuming the position" has summarily proven that she either:

  1. Doesn't believe she has the ability to get the position on her own merit, so she has to resort to using the one thing she has that men will traditionally give anything for. Someone that weak is not a person you want on your team.

  2. Is willing to use anything to get a leg up in the world (no pun intended) and will most likely do the same thing to screw you over once she sees a chance to swing to the next branch in the tree. Again, not a person you want on your team.

That's not to mention the power she would inherently hold over the man she banged to get the job, because she could MeToo him right out of the company.

I highly doubt anyone other than the useful idiots on the low tier of wokeness pyramid think that anyone is actually going to plant trees to do carbon offsets. If anything, they're more about letting the big companies in the US burn the fuel and then slap them with offset taxes, all while ignoring the clouds of smog in the air and garbage in the water over in China and India.

And then what, rule over a pile of lifeless radioactive smoldering ruins?

Not to mention irradiated farmland that would be completely useless for growing anything other than mutated wildlife that glows in the dark. As much as the Blue states bitch and moan about the Red states, they need us more than we need them, because food has to come from somewhere. They think that their food magically appears in their nearest bodega or grocery store out of some mythical infinite distribution center. Their rooftop chicken coops and community gardens aren't going to fill the millions of people in urban areas. If the supply chain to the cities stops, they're fucked.

The Viet Cong and the Taliban didn't need nuclear weapons to fend off the US military in their homelands.

Truth. Which is why they're pulling so hard to keep anything even remotely close to an AR15 out of the hands of the general populace - a good gunsmith can modify those to go burst or auto without breaking a sweat. The Taliban and the VC kept our soldiers at bay with AKs and guerrilla tactics, and there's no reason why the same wouldn't work on our home soil if push came to shove.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the comment about LARPing. Hell, the illiberal liberals have been fantasizing about using drone strikes on the general right-of-Mao populace for years now, so escalating it to nuking the general populace is the next fantasy step.

At least your acquaintance had the full dysphoria thing, which makes it more understandable. The guy I knew really strikes me more as a 'trender. He didn't transition until his late 30s, and never exhibited any signs of dysphoria prior to getting in with the SJW crowd. He was married, had two sons and a wife that loved him, and it looked like their life was good. When their kids got to the point where they were leaving high school, him and his wife got into the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Apparently the local SCA was a hotbed for the LGBT community, and next thing I knew his whole demeanor was flipped over to "straight white men are the worst thing in the world". Not too long after that he went trans, his wife ended up throwing in the towel, and they're no longer together. I figure that if they'd never gotten mixed in with the SJW crowd dude might still be with his wife and not e-begging for rent money while living with his other 'trender friends.

TechParadox 11 points ago +11 / -0

They switch names almost as often ...

I can testify to that. Dude I was friends with for several years and an acquaintance with for a couple decades more decided that he was trans after several years of indoctrination by his local SJW clan. "She" is on at least "her" second name since deciding to go prancing around in dresses and grow "her" hair out, and I've stopped paying attention to "her" insanity.

Macy Gray... now there's a name I haven't heard anything out of in like 21 years - and her opinions now as just about as relevant as they were back then.

'Like the Confederate, it is tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect,' Gray wrote of the flag. 'It no longer represents democracy and freedom. It no longer represents ALL of us. It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag.'

No, it no longer represents the left's idea of democracy and freedom, which actually isn't either. It still represents all Americans, but some have chosen to not hold true to the ideals on which this country was founded. Those are the people it doesn't represent, and if they don't like the way the country works they can feel free to leave.

Gray argued that the stars on the flag fail to represent Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico, which have both seen failed attempts at gaining statehood.

That's because Puerto RIco has repeatedly voted it down - if they wanted to be a state, they would have done it already. They want the benefits of being part of America without the responsibility to the nation that comes with statehood. DC, on the other hand, was never intended to be a state, because it would place the location in a position of power over all the other states in the union.

'America is great,' Gray said. 'It is beautiful. Pure, it ain’t. It is broken and in pieces.'

And whose fault is that? With the leftists flogging race division and white guilt on all of us, all while lining their own pockets with big corporate funds, it's pretty easy to see where the divisions are coming from. It's just as bad out there for a poor white family as it is for a poor black family, but champagne socialists like Gray can't see that because they're looking down from atop their pile of money.

As another musician recently said,

Ashamed to be American? Okay, that's cool
'Cause honestly, we are all ashamed of you too

  • Tom Macdonald, Snowflakes, 2021

so if she doesn't like America and doesn't want to be a force for changing it, screw her. She and her ilk can leave, and we'll start rebuilding.

Never fails that the left devolves into standard DARVO tactics:

  • Deny that there's a problem or that they're the cause of the problem

  • Attack those that try to point out the problem or the lack of consistency in their actions

  • Reverse Victim and Offender, and claim that those opposing them are the real attackers

It's a tactic of abusive people everywhere, and the leftists have been flogging it for years. This instance of it is nothing new.

My wife used to exclusively order VS stuff, not just the lacy frilly bits, but also day-to-day wear, and she gave up on them several years back. Said the quality had gone to shit and they were overpriced for what you got out of it.

This looks more like a shift into the "shapeless bras and granny panties" end of the spectrum, especially if they're aiming at the HAES crowd. You just know those are going to sell like hotcakes...

Man, I can remember back in the day when he was just a loudmouth fatass on Destructoid, before he started riding on TotalBiscuit's shtick and got undeservedly popular in his own right.

This shit, though? He's been on a downhill slide ever since TB's death, and it sure as hell looks like he's descending down the path of full blown mental illness. Let him keep sliding. He'll shout himself into irrelevance soon enough, and likely get picked up on some sex crime charges in the process while he's at it.

12
TechParadox 12 points ago +12 / -0

Trender/Mental Illness would be my bet on that front. Dude probably thought it'd bump his numbers with the woke crowd, but apparently he failed to realize that the majority of his audience don't watch him because he's woke, they watch him for the rants and pro-gamer content, thereby causing a loss in viewers when he started down the batshit insane route.

TechParadox 12 points ago +12 / -0

They bent the knee. Plain and simple. After the Dickwolves incident they lost any clout they had against the SJW horde, and they ceded control of PAX to them. The only way they'll ever be able to revert that is to tear it apart and start over.

I get he has geek cred, but I'm not really sure why he's held in the esteem that he is. I enjoyed his early stuff, but I think everything after Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back has been varying degrees of boring and/or insufferable.

There's a reason why I said "mildly interested", because there was an outside chance he might do it right based on what he initially said. Obviously he was lying through his teeth.

Back in the day, he was "one of us". Dude had geek cred in spades, on top of being an indie movie darling. He was a comic book fanboy extraordinaire. J&SBSB was the zenith of his career, and he was still riding high on that into the 2000s.

That's when he started sniffing his own farts and got all pretentious with his vanity projects. He bought into his own fame and started hobnobbing with Hollywood elites. He still paid lip service to his fandoms, but the exterior was cracking. When he had his heart attack, he went full-vegan, full-woke, and fully annoying.

Much like you, I can't see why people still watch his movies. Everything he has done since 2001 has gone down in quality - I mostly wrote him off after Clerks II was a hot mess. When I heard they'd tapped him to do the He-Man revival I had a "maybe this won't be so bad" moment, but I guess I got my hopes up. What bugs me even more about it is the "bullshot"-tier promos they're releasing. We already know that it's going to be woke trash. High-quality trash (It looks a hell of a lot better than the She-Ra revamp), but woke garbage nonetheless.

Anyone who imagines that there is some mythical "code of honor" on any field of combat is living in a fantasy world. You don't go to battle with the intent of "playing fair". You go into it with the intent of winning the battle through whatever means possible. If that means taking advantage of an enemy's stupidity (like sleeping during the day, or leaving their officers unprotected) then you damn well do that and worry about the war crimes tribunal if your side loses, later.

Probably hasn't even read that, and is just regurgitating points that have been passed to her by someone who actually has read it - like the good little NPC that she is.

Back when they announced Kevin Smith was going to be doing a He-Man reboot for Netflix, I was mildly interested. The original show was a huge part of my childhood, and I felt that Smith might be able to do it justice. He even noted that the characters wouldn't be changed, it would just be updated.

I should have realized long before we saw the first trailers that he was full of shit. Dude bent the show and made it all about a butch Teela, with He-Man and the rest of the male cast taking a backseat to everything. Even the most recent trailer is garbage, because it makes it look like there's going to be some epic battles between the forces of good and evil.

As a forty-something dude, I am part of the target audience for this show. It's nostalgia bait, and it's the kind of thing I should be watching with kids/grandkids. Instead, this is exactly the kind of fucking with the past by rewriting it in the present that will keep me from going anywhere near it. There's times I wonder why I keep paying for a monthly Netflix subscription, when they keep churning out woke trash.

"Tack-teeks? We don' need no steenking tack-teeks!"

If it were up to dim bulbs like this daft wench, we'd still be lining up squads of riflemen and letting them shoot volleys at each other until one side ran out of men to put on the field.

All in all, the "weird" homeschooled kids I've met were the ones with the whack-job cult-mentality parents who refused to let them socialize with others in their peer group, because their kid might get opposing viewpoints from what the parents want to install into the kids' brains. The ones that were allowed to socialize outside of the home, through group hobbies or other means, actually learned how to interact and turned out relatively well-adjusted.
