DP (heh) is obviously a bit morbid, but well worth the watch IMO.

To be honest they messed up the art adapting xxxHolic to anime. For some reason the heads are comically small; I'll never understand it. Still worth a watch for those into stuff like youkai/ghost stories, etc...and a really epic witch-lady that I would personally hate to have missed out on. The kind where she mostly runs the boys around doing the dirty work, and it's only when shit really hits the fan that she unveils her power in the slightest.

Still though, if you don't like the art, good thing there's a zillion other styles out there. Where anime is concerned I truly believe there's something out there for everyone.

Also, about the crying thing: sometimes that's exactly the reaction the artist was hoping for, doncha think? Why not let them make you cry? Personally I love it when I'm crying because the story is so sad and laughing at the same time because it's so good. Maybe I'm just too masochistic - I also really love spicy food.

I say go for that Violet Evergarden and let the waters flow.

You'll be happy to hear that years ago a friend introduced me to Tiger & Bunny as her very first recommendation. It didn't end up being my exact cup of tea, but rest assured there are those of us out there who know about it.

I'm just finishing up my first watch of FMA:Brotherhood (9 episodes left I think). It seems everyone loves it, myself most likely included. It took me this long because I found the ending of the 2003 adaptation very disappointing.

Bebop & Champloo, hell, what kind of bozo doesn't like those?

Then you've got a bunch of stuff that I haven't watched. I really should finish Zetsubou-sensei.

You don't like CLAMP????? HOW DARE YOU. xxxHolic is a masterpiece.

I just tried to sell a non-believer with Golden Kamuy elsewhere in this thread.

Seems like you've already got pretty varied taste. I'll just offer up three niche picks that you might enjoy: -Death Parade -Girl's last Tour -Flip Flappers

That is indeed a thorny issue, which I'll concede for our purposes. I'll also concede that the most visible English-speaking fans of anime are very often rather grotesque and obnoxious.

Anyways, I'm not here to convince you to watch a hundred episodes of Naruto or anything like that (I haven't watched it either). I'll be satisfied if I can take you from "It's all garbage." to "It's not for me, but it might not all be garbage." So let's cut to the chase. Your criteria: -No sexualized minors -No pitiful soyboys

To which I'll add: -A minor performing a competent and compelling role in the story -Compelling and traditionally masculine characters that aren't portrayed as soyboy buffoons

Golden Kamuy immediately comes to mind - an adventure story in the classic mode. A courageous soldier returns victorious from the Russo-Japanese War to the frigid north, where he hears a rumor of a hidden stash of gold. Soon he encounters a young girl of the Northern tribes whose father was murdered over the secret of the very same gold.

The two team up and agree to split the treasure, but several other interested parties are already hot on the trail. Along the way he benefits greatly from her knack for survival in the frozen forest, and she likewise benefits greatly from his knack for sensing a pointed rifle from hundreds of meters away.

Surely any pajama soyboy would soon perish under such circumstances.

If you'll allow me 3 more minutes of your time, here's a clip.

Would it be a futile exercise for me to try to change your mind about anime?

Maybe I can find some soy-free material for you if you give me a list of what always disappoints you.

What kind of stuff were you into back then? I might have some personalized recommendations for you.

Sometime I want to make a full post of my story of forsaking anime for about 6-7 years "cuz muhsoggyknees bad" until my friend happened to put on Kill La Kill at work just a few days before The Zoe Post hit in good old August '14.

Extremely fortunate timing for me. Somehow, getting directly berated and told that everything bad is my fault while watching a great story warning me about those kind of people cured me of Libstianity within a week...weird.

Anything Studio Trigger touches turns to gold, and it's no wonder given their prestigious lineage from massively successful studios past. (and yes, they clearly understand exactly what "Trigger" implies in contemporary Western politics)

In general, from Rooster's post I can second Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, from the same director, is also quite good), Konosuba, Arcane (gonna finish it today), and especially Made in Abyss.

...man, I really could go on all day. Weeb for life.

Just go watch Oshii's Ghost in the Shell from 1995 (or read the original manga) and forget The Matrix ever existed.

"Basically, we want to Jew this up and dumb it down."

-The Wachowskis at the pitch meeting.

See? I can do dismantling and Israel at the same time.

Hopefully the game had a big enough budget for full voice acting because it would be seriously ableist to assume that the player can read if they select the "Tell Me a Story" difficulty.

It's almost like a curse. You don't want to notice the Stein or Berg or Blatt in the name, but it practically jumps off the screen straight into your eyeballs.

It got better for me though, as I read up. There are some Jewish authors who have been honestly trying to address the problem for decades: Israel Shahak, Gilad Atzmon, David Cole, etc...

Too bad our own Resident Doctor Juicester is just a flagrant shill.

know the history

uses Baroque chamber music in a show about someone who died fifty years before the genre even began to emerge.

Checks out.

He could have passed as a plain old goy with a surname like "Carroll," but they just couldn't resist adding in the "synagogue" bit.

Never let a good victim point go to waste. O* V**

The only way it could have been more hilarious is if he'd paid thirty pieces of silver.

As a weeb shitposter myself I'm hoping many more like her show up to help keep Japan based.

If anyone is looking for Crunchyroll/Netflix alternatives for watching anime, I can take you on an adventure to the proverbial high seas.

There are other ways you can give back to Japanese creators besides paying for SJWs to insert their masturbatory homilies into media they didn't make.

Great job on her part - never apologize to people like this.

Don't let them shame or intimidate you into ceding control over fandoms/communities/etc...

Lessons learned from GG in action right here.

It was like 30 years after Marie Curie's second Nobel prize (which wasn't handed out in secret last I checked). Every literate society at the time had some idea of radiation and the atomic model of matter.

By all means please refrain from "engaging" me further.

show me a calculation of the area under any parabola you'd like and I'll consider taking you seriously.

Otherwise you can maybe answer your own question about how small and large objects are related in our universe, but I kind of doubt it...

Edit: Ouch those downvotes. Seems like calculus did you guys pretty dirty. PM me and hopefully we can get that cleared up.

So Japan could build airplanes but they had not the faintest idea of the current state of nuclear physics?

If I was an SJW I'd call you racist.

Japan's air capability was long since crippled and it took roughly 15 billion US dollars (2021 adjusted) to manufacture an atomic bomb at the time.
