Yeah, it's been neutered. One can only hope unfiltered competitors emerge, but I'm not optimistic.

the only plot point I think from S2 you need to know is that 7 broke up with black girl

Raffi or whatever? She was about 90% of why I thought S1 was stupid as crap. She was mean, her actions didn't make any sense, utopian society and she's a drug addict living in the desert and somehow it's all Picard's fault? And how they suddenly, with no leadup, had RAffi and 7 holding hands in the last scene of s1? So stupid.

I watched S1 of Picard and did not enjoy it. I didn't HATE it, but I did hate parts of it.

Likewise, I watched S1 of Discovery and haven't watched anything since. I hated pretty much everything about STD.

Having skipped S2 of Picard, is S3 worth watching?

It's a bit mixed. Iran was a hotspot for trans surgeries a decade ago, and still does them.

Rumors that the government disliked gays more than trans, and so were making gay men get surgery so they at least could pretend to be women and not gay.

Slow cooking and smoking are preferable in terms of health.

If you're concerned about such things, watch out for smoking foods. Smoke produces carcinogenic compounds. I'm not worried in moderation, but I would not at all say that smoking is "healthy."

Yes. I believe abortion is a moral wrong, but I believe it's probably a net positive.

Something like 12 weeks works for me. 6 weeks--or none--will destroy the Republican party for the foreseeable future.

I've always found it ironic. One of my lefty friends who had pro-abortion bumper stickers on her car has a child with a genetic disease. She chose not to abort, and she and her husband are totally devoted to their kid who has serious, lifelong, issues. I am morally opposed to abortion, and I thankfully have never been in her position, but I would have aborted.

OTOH, the problem with eugenics is, who gets to decide?

The first three panels were pretty funny TBH. Leftists never know when to stop.

When I worked for the government it was 100% assumed that everyone is spying on everyone. There is a lot of false outrage, kabuki theater, and probably some legitimate worry that some actual sigint capabilities or techniques have leaked (some of the docs I saw referenced had extremely high "SCI" classifications).

One example of spying that was commonly given was both Russia AND the United States installing bugs in each other's embassies--and how it was almost a game between spy agencies to try to one-up the other sides--and French intelligence bugging the Air France business class seats to spy on corporate chatter in order to help out French companies.

Everyone does it.

"I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before or am I just crazy."

You are literally crazy by any pre-2016 definition.

I got FB blocked by a guy I had been friends with since elementary school (literally knew him since first grade through college). After college, our home state passed a voter ID law. He had moved to a different state by that time, and his new state already had voter id.

He had a meltdown about Republican nazis discriminating against blacks, etc., and ranting about how glad he was to have left our home state.

I posted on his FB "Glad you're happy in your new home, but doesn't ___ already have voter ID law? Is it also run by fascist nazis?"

I was immediately blocked and I haven't heard from him since.

Literally 15 years of friendship gone in 30 seconds.

I sent a handwritten note when his dad died (his dad was based and ran a retail store until he was in his mid-80s...we used to hang out there in highschool) and never even heard anything back. It's sad.

Small piece of advice. I think the risk is low, and you haven't said THAT much, but do be careful about "powerleveling" as the New Zealanders farmers call it...sharing too much information. Enemies are ruthless.

I actually think this is the best answer.

Drag is the opposite of Christian morality, Christian morality is associated with Republicans, therefore leftists want to do the exact opposite.

Leftists define themselves by being the opposite of their imaginary boogie men.

KeeperOfTheGate 12 points ago +12 / -0

It is only a form of entertainment

I've never understood this. I personally don't know anyone who watches Drag Race. I personally don't know anyone who goes to drag shows, drag story time, etc. But clearly people ARE going, and clearly straight people must be going or watching too. Who is the demographic?

(I'm assuming it's mostly middle class+ white basic bitches.)

I've decided if I get any type of cancer I'm going to try and fast as treatment. I've done a few 7-12 day water fasts and maybe that would starve it out.

I completed a 5 day water fast at the start of Lent. Day 4 was very hard, but day 5 was easier. That was the longest I had ever gone before.

Much admiration for going longer.

Thanks again for the links. It's great--I'm reading a lot of stuff I would not normally find.

Ursula K LeGuin's books have also been edited. https://archive.ph/GPEeB

Decision made by son,Theo Downes-Le Guin. Hyphenated last name. Does anything more really need to be said?

My short answer. How do I think it will end? I think the collectivists will continue to win, and the traditional Rationalist/Individualist/Christian Europe tradition will continue to die a slow death. I think the cultural degeneracy we've seen in the the west will continue to evolve, and with global population growth (except in sub-Saharan Africa) plummeting, with all nations facing stagnant or shrinking populations, shit is going to get weird.

Ok, black pill, maybe, but what am I going to do about it? I'm doing everything I can to prepare myself, my family, and my children. All I can do is that hope that I have prepared financial resources but MOST IMPORTANTLY the intellectual foundation that gives my kids--and hopefully any of their descendants--the chance to be immune to left mindvirus.

It's a chance. Not a guarantee.

Leftists are sex positive if real women are doing it only

Also, don't forget that to leftists, "real women" invariably means seriously obese.

Unhealthily fat 250+ lber = real woman

Dude with implants and a penis = real woman

Skinny or athletic girl = UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS

I think the feeling was that if they let Buckhead form its own city and leave Atlanta, that Buckhead was where so many businesses area located, where many wealthy neighborhoods area, and is something like 70% white (as opposed to Altanta as a whole which is ~40% white), that the decreased tax revenue for the rest of Atlanta would lead it to decay and fall apart.

Also, the "optics" of a wealthy area wanting to pull out like that were bad.

I'm personally ALWAYS in favor of smaller units of government. Smaller government is more responsive to the people. I used to live in a small town, and if you emailed one of the city councillors, they would almost always either email you or CALL you back. Where I live now, good luck getting a response. Good luck getting a response from your US senator.

Smaller is better.

Secession is pretty much impossible. There are not natural borders. The right dominates the rural areas too much, and the left dominates the urban areas too much.

I have wondered about a modification of our political system. Right now we have 50 states, 2 senators each. What if we changed representation so that there were 50 states with 2 senators each, but every census, the 20 largest cities got their own senator, and didn't get to vote for state senators.

NY LA Chicago Houston Phoenix Philadelphia San Antontio etc

Would have their own, almost certainly Democrat senator. Meanwhile, Republicans might actually have a chance again in California, NY, Illinois, etc.

Look at Georgia. The enclave of Buckhead, part of Atlanta, has had a Atlanta secession movement for years. It almost made it to a vote this year, but who slapped it down? Republicans. Weak.
