I totally missed the "Mom Prix" 😄
Yup, looks 100%. The clip is from 2024? (this year's was delayed, was supposed to run last weekend) & here's a promotional video for this year, using 2025's race.
The clip has a sunny, dry track while the video looks really slick.
Some rare ones were. In my parts (Manitoba) We had a Chief Peguis back in the 1860's. Several tribes were sick of the Whites building settlements on prime land & were planning to wipe them out. Chief Peguis talked them out of it saying how that would be evil & stuff.
Straight-up good guy, so history says anyhow.
It must have been a while back, I didn't find it in my history :/ I found this from 1831 though but that's not it, iirc the woman died in the 1880's saying she was the last one who remembered it.
I'm guessing they got 11 amateur lady racers & were letting them do some real-life laps in the early part of a race day? But it could be Ai, who knows.
I think it falls into: you can't make this up, no one would believe it.
EDIT: It's Called The "Mom Prix" and runs annually in May. I think the clip is from 2024? And the video link is a promo using 2025's race. One is dry & sunny while the other is overcast and the track looks slick.
1609 to 1700 A bit before the American Revolution.
We know these up here in Canada as "The French & Indian Wars" although it probably has a more woke name by now.
I just read somewhere that the sky used to be a different colour before 1820 (?), I forget which colour it used to be. People were forced to never speak of it & everyone who say the old colour died off...
Actually after 1816, the year without a summer due to Krakatoa blowing up, there might be something to it?
I just watched a news item on how these drivers (Uber, Skip, Door Dash & all) can just buy an existing account & start driving. No background check or even a driver's license required! 🙀
That explains the endless number of "recent migrants" doing these jobs. That and the big cities keep them like slaves.

One of the all-time best shows.

Yuuki Yuuna is a hero. Starts out cute, gets very dark very fast. Season 2 is grim! The monsters are terrifying.

Gushing Over Magical Girls. Fights, monsters, lots of ecchi!
"In the right hands" is the key here. Plenty of lazy-ass coders will use it to make slop, which they then will spend hundreds of hours "fixing" to justify their jobs.
Anyhow, it's still in its infancy. There's a long road ahead.
The lying liars at CTV just lied their way into a hefty lawsuit, I hope!
Many of the comments there seem to think the taxpayers would be "on the hook" for a lawsuit payout. CTV is NOT the CBC. The CBC is Fed funded and thus immune to lawsuit payouts: free taxpayer money is bottomless.
CTV is a privately owned company, their shareholders would be the ones paying for it.
Of course in Canada it would take YEARS and probably be a small settlement, and our "judges" are even worse than the ones in the USA, eh? An open & shut case like this could easily fail due to pure corruption.
A fellow Deist perhaps?
I too think the universe was created on purpose not by accident. That there would be countless forms of intelligent life would be fully expected, not one single planet with it. The universe is BIG! There's (counts on fingers and toes) a LOT of planets out there! The odds that there's no other intelligent life is astronomical. However? Can we ever contact them? That's a big question.
Didn't you catch my name? I've loved many cats over the decades and they loved me right back.
I know there are bad cats out there, I've seen a few sadly, but most are gentle with their family, which includes "their human" too!
I also did say "mostly" right? Of course there are exceptions, things would be boring without variety!
Yes I really had 5 cats back in the day. 😺
There was also the Foreign Orphan Adoption program in Canada (I forget the exact title) that ran at exactly the same time as the Residential schools. It too had roughly 150,000 orphans brought to Canada from the UK & placed in families. City or farm, they were officially adopted & little to zero follow-up was done.
While many lived happy lives, others were treated as farmhands or maids... or far worse.
But it's the same for the Residential schools: most kids got an education & were happy. A far too large a % were abused, but it wasn't all of them. It is illegal for Residential "survivors" to say they had no problem & were glad they went. They are barred from ever speaking positively about it.
There's a couple of posts here about it? A Black man was going chimp on some guy (and his wife?) and ended up getting shot (not dead). It was open & shut self defense. The White guy even turned and walked away to be pursued & attacked (with a knife?). There's video. The event happened a while back.
But the White guy gets charged anyhow, because.
I'm hoping this is the White guy's fundraiser, I know the Black guy had one up the next day.
