The lying liars at CTV just lied their way into a hefty lawsuit, I hope!
Many of the comments there seem to think the taxpayers would be "on the hook" for a lawsuit payout. CTV is NOT the CBC. The CBC is Fed funded and thus immune to lawsuit payouts: free taxpayer money is bottomless.
CTV is a privately owned company, their shareholders would be the ones paying for it.
Of course in Canada it would take YEARS and probably be a small settlement, and our "judges" are even worse than the ones in the USA, eh? An open & shut case like this could easily fail due to pure corruption.
I mean, they still get millions of dollars a year from the federal government so it'd be a bit of both...
That's true, but I think lawsuit losses would not get taxpayer money, like the CBC would. Anyhow I doubt very much he'd get over $100K, sadly.
Doesn't matter, theyll squeal like a pig stuck under a gate about how they're the vanguard against the scary shadowy interests of American hedgefund owned newspapers (the source of all Canada's woes according to many) and the government will write them a cheque with one hand while wagging a finger at anyone who second guesses their golden word.
I just wanted to watch hot anime girls fight monsters or something and nobody can help me. They just say “that’s every anime” but nobody names a title. Not even the catgirl guy can help.
