It's likely part of Yelps extortion business mode. Compel businesses to pay up the $$$ to remove the alert, while also scoring social justice points.

Yelp is introducing a "Business Accused of Racist Behavior Alert" for businesses.

I say we nominate every single business that implements affirmative action hiring or promotes critical race theory for such a warning

Its communism #101. There was a case of a professor getting suspended because of outrage over him saying a chinese word that sounded like the N word. In response to all that happening some other people correctly noticed that this behavior is quote "disturbingly similar to what happened in china --- spurious accusations against innocent people which escalated in to institutional insanity."

People are just going to call any business they don't like as racist. So basically all the conservative businesses . And they always stretch the definition of "racism" and other buzzwords, whenever they can't find any real racism etc. Soon they'll call you a racist business if you don't have enough of certain identity groups employed .

HECK they are already doing that if i remember i think [[[Goldman sacs's Ceo David Solomon]]] is saying they will not take in any companies that dont have at least "one diverse board candidate"

Since Yelp will be providing "a link to a news article where they can learn more", it might be a bit more difficult than just clicking a button.

Guarantee you iteration 2.0 is just a link to a touched-up negative Yelp review containing the original accusation.

Yelp is legalized extortion. Good luck with the libel lawsuits for US businesses, because they're not going to win them.

Who's gonna bet that they'll hide behind Section 230 when they inevitably get sued?

I'm not US-based, so I don't really have a horse in the race, but this bullshit is why I'd rather have 230 gone completely than waiting for years on end to repair it. It would force these peoples hands and may lead to something that honors the initial spirit of the law.

[EDIT]rather instead of either[/EDIT]

I don't use yelp, but I'll definitely shop at places that were "racist" towards muh based blacks.
