'My wife just now “We celebrate athletes for giving to charity and helping others. That isn’t sticking to sports and I love watching those stories during games”. Hmmm. Almost like she has a point.'

This guys is clearly an ignoramus. 1. I couldn't give a shit what charity work athletes do, 99% of the time its to sway optics away from the fact they have 18 baby mamas and just got their 8th dui. 2. I don't worship or celebrate athletes, I watch them compete and cheer for teams as a form of entertainment, the same way I dont worship actors, the dipshits that do are the provable drain on our culture. 3. Unless these athletes want every place they attend to be able to treat them based on their political ideology I'd be wary to shit all over their medium.

"People only watch sports to see athletes support the causes I like!" - Someone that doesn't watch sports.

Meanwhile, if anyone other than an able-bodied white heterosexual man experiences any kind of unhappiness, it's systemic institutional ____-ism.

Lazy slobs think being a sports fanatic makes them athletic by extension.

Sports fanatics are the biggest fucking nerds. They make computer geeks look manly by comparison.

I used to work with a bunch of fantasy sports players.

They tended to get really butthurt when I called it Dungeons & Dragons for people who think they aren't nerds.

Human beings possess finite mental bandwidth. There's nothing wrong with taking a break from politics to enjoy something apolitical for a few hours. In fact, any good psychologist would tell you it's downright healthy.

It is also entirely rational to become frustrated with activists deliberately encroaching upon all of our previously apolitical outlets for leisure and entertainment. These people are systematically denying us any activities to alleviate stress and anxiety; their demands for divisive politics in all spaces is really nothing less than an assault on our mental health.

If people didn't "escape their regular lives" through sports this guy wouldn't have a job. So to that end I support people not using sports as an "escape".

I'd encourage him to stop funding his daughter's communist indoctrination.

Colin Cowherd has been a sports commentator his entire life.

Anyone with a full time job barely getting by, needs some fucking downtime once in awhile. The idea that we should blame people with shitty jobs for being unhappy, is remarkably detached and offensive.

Personally, I have no issue if an athlete wants to endorse or support a political movement, when they are off the field and not acting in an official capacity. They can have their opinion, even if I dislike or disagree with it. What I do have a problem with, is doing such things on the job. Thats BS, and is just not proper conduct. Stop shoving this crap into half time reports and during the actual game. Do it on your own time.

What’s weird is this seems out of character for him. If Colin fucking Cowherd goes race-baiter we’ll have lost a good one, boys

These are the people who smoke pot, binge watch Rick & Morty, and play their nintendo switch hours on end.
