For those wondering, the other three cities are Seattle, Portland, and Washington, DC, according to the New York Post.

Should be Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, Austin, and Chicago. NY is relatively calm (no riots, just criminals killing criminals) and DC is a special case.

Barr's been tasked with making a list of cities who have permitted violence and the destruction of property to persist, and have refused to undertake reasonable measures to restore order. Minneapolis, Austin, and Chicago may end up on that list.

Seattle, Portland, and Washington, DC are more important nationally so it makes sense that they would be focusing on them first. I could see them being used as examples to make everybody else fall in line when it comes to actually upholding the law.

If a checkbox for "contribute $3 to the wall around new york fund" showed up on my taxes I would certainly check it.

I'd take 30 out of every paycheck for the rest of my life to wall up California. I'm open to letting the red rural counties be excluded and letting them be New California.

I live in a part of Seattle that was cut off from the rest of Seattle in March when the main connecting bridge, the busiest portion of roadway in Seattle, was closed in an emergency move one Monday afternoon at 3:00.

That stranded 100,000 Seattle residents from the rest of the city, no good alternative to the West Seattle bridge exists. The actual city of Seattle owns that bridge and they have no money and no plan for fixing it. One of our Congresscritters (Jayapal?) was yammering about getting federal funds to fix the bridge problem.

Well, well, well ... I guess we'll see how that goes.

These cities need to get their shit together, but it's really uncomfortable that the Federal government has the ability to defund cities to any extent.

Elastic clause, sure, but Interstate Commerce is fine on its face. The real problems are the 16th Amendment and Wickard v Filburn.
