I honestly do not understand them. Do they need to virtue signal so much? I have a a few gay friends and they are happy to be treated like everyone else, they do not want all this pandering crap. Maybe it is aimed at a younger audience (although I hope not), my friends are between 32-37.

Is it anything like how in Japan they have a female-only train cart? That one I get because during rush hour you're basically like sardines in a can. So being squished up against people of the opposite sex can lead to some pretty awkward situations either intended or not.
