And then they'll move to Texas and vote for no electricity there, too.

Like locusts to a field, it really is a mind plague.

I remember reading something about environmental laws that prohibited PG&E from removing the dead wood, basically tinder, under transmission lines because it was home to the burrowing owl or something. Which was the cause of all those massive fires, and the reason PG&E filed for bankruptcy: too high cost to repair/maintain the lines.

Which is also why CA began shutting down power during high wind advisories. I dont know if they still do it, but that is what happened up until it stopped being news worthy a few months ago.

For every problem in California, there is a craptastic animal being "saved"

Ironic about the animal [burrowing owl?] who lived in the dead wood PG&E was prohibited from removing is the habitat was destroyed by the fires anyways.

Fun fact: Texas is on its own power grid and doesn't depend on power from other places or states. This has some nice benefits for Texans: -No Federal Regulation/Overreach via the often abused Interstate Commerce Clause -No depending on other states for power -Lower Costs for consumers (currently paying under 8 cents per kwh residential)

Texas also had Electricity Deregulation in the 90s. This means Texans have their choice of dozens of power companies. Unlike when I was living in Kansas where we had "The Electric Company" (KG&E at the the time). If you had a problem, billing dispute, or other issues, too damn bad since they were the only game in town.

So while it was a Bee article, it could see power being one of the many reasons why Californians would GTFO. They really need to leave their socialist/statist voting habits behind when they go.

They also have a wealth of natural resources for energy production that few other states share. But don't worry. Californians are flocking inward and will soon squander every advantage Texas offers.

There was a shitload of oil in California, at some point. Maybe there's some offshore. IIRC they got bent out of shape after one little oil spill and banned exploitation

They really need to leave their socialist/statist voting habits behind when they go.

The won't; I know this from first-hand experience. Everything is the fault of the "right-wingers" and because the policies weren't implemented "correctly". They never consider that the leviathan bureaucracy required to implement the policies they agitate for today becomes the "fascist" government they agitate against tomorrow.

A few years ago, during a heat wave in North-Eastern US, the electricity demand in an area overcame the grid's capacity, causing a cascading disaster of low tension and surges spreading over several states, causing a total, extremely long blackout.

Found it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_blackout_of_2003

It lasted anywhere from 6+ hours to nearly FOUR FUCKING DAYS. It was in 2003

That shit was rolling on its merry way totally out of control untill it met Québec's border, at which point it was instantly stopped by our grid being separate and having security mesures.

Globalization means when something fails, the whole place fails together.

Nations should strive for self-sufficiency and maintaining their culture.

Borrowings, trades and some influences? Sure, to an extent. Open borders and globalisation? Fuck no. The world needs different nations to keep existing and compete to develop their own unique things for some of those things to eventually benefit other nations and further nations and humans in general.

That's a bit of a bad thing. It attracts human locusts that never learn. I wish republican state make some sort of law to remedy that like how Japan does to the foreigners that have no clues about Japanese government and culture.

Ex.For the new residents that came from another state can only vote if they own business/house. For the rest of them, they have to wait 2 years to vote for state/city governors.

Newsom keeps doing the blackouts every time something happen starts to happen with the weather. I think it's because they use directed energy weapons and they need the electricity.

The Paradise fires were simple microwaves. The sudden spikes in temperature might be microwaves, but dispersed differently.
