Less than a week ago, when we were all posting predictions on the latest peace deal, I posted this
"Israel will level another apartment building in Lebanon, and Trump will say it was fair game."
Well here'the latest:
TLDR: Israel attacked Lebanon when ceasefire was in effect.
So here's the cycle:

Trump proposes peace deal to open the Straight, which includes all sides ending hostilities

Iran blusters and rejects it citing continued attacks on their funded paramilitaries, before begrudgingly accepting it

Israel gets big mad that the peace deal is not regime change and carpet bombs another neighborhood across the border

Iran (correctly) complains that the peace deal was violated, and the war is back on

Step 3 is clearly the problematic link. Any non-compromised leader would cut off the rogue party to break the cycle.
I mean with how the current 'deal' was being formalised, if Iran breaks it then it gave Trump an out for it.
Everyone said how bad deal it was, that it gave too much to Iran, and a few of those voices weren't Israel ass kissers.
The best plan might be to deny Israel support which is a position getting more and more support domestically, keep blockade if Iran blockade and let the two countries starve each other out.
Yup, if we cut off support to Israel there's no more reason to be there.

I am not inherently anti-Israel, but in the last year, maybe two, but especially the last, it has become increasingly clear they need to be cut off cold turkey and be told the make their own way until they learn to be a team player, and they are not the star player on any team.
Any benefit we used to get from there being and angry chihuahua in the Middle East has been counter acted by their constant sabotage of active negotiations. The chihuahua needs to learn to sit or learn how to catch its own rats for food.
As a side note, It has also become increasingly clear that they are using the US as a dumping ground for Arabs.
But due to this becoming increasingly clear, it is even more jarring that congress has been trying to force us closer to Israel. Part of this is lobbying like AIPAC but a good part of it is possibly old fashioned not being in touch with their constituents.(As people were frankly more pro-Israel two years ago than they are now, and not just on this site)
Texas voters just ousted three incumbent congressman in the primaries, and all three were AIPAC's donation preference. (Tony Gonzales by alot) Hopefully that at least sends a message that AIPAC dollars are not a silver bullet and they at least need to try to satisfy the actual voters.
Now imagine that chihuahua was walking you with a dog leash, and there you have the US-Israel relationship.
Maybe this is out there, but I think Trump's 4D idea might even be to replace Israel with Iran, or at least have two 'friends' that we can play against each other.
Trump is an old man and he was alive when Iran was a real democracy, a normal country, and knows we replaced that with theocratic hardliners. They still have actual elections, even though they're under the theocracy, that have real impacts on domestic policy and people's lives.
There's no other country in the region that could replace Israel as a western-style democracy, none of the others have the traditions in place for it. And it does explain why Trump would help them rebuild, didn't destroy their infrastructure, and so on.
Literally any country in the region would be a better ally than Israel, no allies at all would be better than Israel, it’s never been an ally it’s always been a parasite.
True that's why I put 'friend' in scare quotes. A democratic Iran wouldn't be our actual friend either, they'd still be holding a grudge, but better friends than Israel.
That's the whole reason why the deep state overthrew Iran in the first place way back when, so Israel would be the "only democracy" and we'd have to support them.
