Remember when Republicans criticized Joe Biden for leaving Americans behind in Afghanistan? (twitter.com)

To play devil's advocate, there is at least a difference:

●Trump's one was an surprise attack and at least the Americans were in friendly (enough) countries so just stuck in hotels.

● Biden screwed up a deal that he just had to follow and then withdrew the military including the logistical support without removing any equipment or civilian assets using the MUCH better defended and capacity air base.

It's hypocrisy from Trump but at least not idiocy to the point of malice as there at least isn't militias currently surrounding them..

Trump's one was an surprise attack

To me, that makes it worse, not better. Biden didn't intend for his incompetence to collapse Afghanistan in a few days, trapping his citizens. Trump just had to have a 'surprise attack' while Americans were still there. It also wasn't that much of a surprise. He was moving assets into place for two months.

at least the Americans were in friendly (enough) countries so just stuck in hotels.

Actually, I saw that the American government is telling nearly all Americans to leave about 20 countries.

Honestly, prove he didn't intend for that mess.

He intentionally left our munitions and supplies behind, I can't find any other explanation then greed or malice for that.

Biden "didn't intend" because he's a senile idiot. Jill probably gave the order, or Hunter.
Just like Obama ignored the advice of EVERY advisor & pulled ALL the military assets out of Iraq? Leading to ISIL's over-run? I'm sure both "men" had good intentions, eh? You know what paves the road to hell, right?

In both cases, along with Carter's ill-fated rescue operation, the order was to "bug out", to get out as fast as humanly possible. Troops & US citizens were the top priority, weapons & equipment low on the list. In Iraq they'd been "drawing down" for some time, so the retreat went quite well. Not at all in Afghanistan, where the Deep State had refused Trump's orders for an orderly withdrawal for 2 years. :/

Alright fine, biden might not have but his handlers sure did.

He was moving assets into place for two months.

I'm actually less sympathetic to that. I had connections in logistics and clocked something happening in China in 2019 before the pandemic happened, giving me time to stock up and prepare 2 months before lockdowns.

If people can't see the armada amassing and think "you know what, I should stay clear of this until whatever is about to happen is done", that's more on them at that point.

American government is telling nearly all Americans to leave about 20 countries.

Think that's a formality at this point like saying "please area if possible" right after the hurricane hit. The American government has fault but I am REALLY tired of people not reading the room nowadays...

Seems like a lot of these people are employees of the USG or companies, as it was said that they were evacuating "non-essential personnel". Not sure they could have decided on their own to leave because there is a military buildup.

IIRC, you're also not American, but here in Europe we regularly mock American-style warnings like "please don't dry your cat in the oven".

My scorn is only for those that VOLUNTARILY go to these openly at risk areas. If you're forced by a paycheck and/or contract, I at least have sympathy there. I know there were MANY disasters that were called months in advance by employees but the owner miles away went 'tough luck, carry on working', hopefully they can charge their hotels and room service to the company...

American civilians have been told for YEARS to not travel in Iran. It isn't safe at all. The gov't regularly takes them hostage for leverage or straight-up ransom.
Even Canada Told Its Citizens to leave immediately... in January.

You thought Iran was '20 countries'? That is even more impressive than you thinking that Iraq had WD.

What "20 countries" are you blabbering about? Anyone who doesn't realize that Americans haven't been safe to travel in Iran for 40+ years is truly uninformed. 444 days and all that, remember? No? Well go look it up.

The countries the Epstein Administration just told Americans to leave. Remember that? No? Well go look it up, Ukraine boy.

Again with your lies, you are either shameless or a complete retard.
Or both, eh? Both is entirely possible for any leftist.
Remember that thing about how shitty your "memory" is? I think I've told you the facts at least 6-8 times but there's the bullshit yet again. It ends your credibility btw.

Because it happened all very quickly

You mean you launching a (not a) war? Oh well, in that case, all is fine - can't help that.

Amazing.

No, it is logical. The warning to leave IMMEDIATELY came in January. It has not changed. People had 6 weeks to get out. If they chose to stay what is the US supposed to do? Kidnap them? If they had to stay for various reasons then they have my sympathy & hope they come through it OK. Not another 444 days, eh?

"Hey citizen? In 3 days we'll be bombing these specific locations, so stay away from them and 'shhh!' don't tell Iran!" ...ok then.

Happened very quickly huh. I guess it was just a complete coincidence that a couple of carrier groups were sent over there a few weeks ago. We just got lucky that we had them right there when hostilities broke out. How was he supposed to know that attacking a sovereign nation would lead to a war?

It's NOT a war. We just bombed their leader's palace unprovoked, killed their leader, bombed a school, and staged the biggest bombing run since the 1991 Gulf War.

Can't even bomb a country for a week these days without it being called a war by people who want the Obama-written Epstein Files that don't exist released.

That is incorrect, you fell for quite transparent propaganda.

Many have, including people on the anti-war side.

This is why even when you have a point I look at you with naked skepticism. That's not debunking anything. It's just speculation and arguably counter propaganda that supports what you believe is true

And that's a bad thing? You should look at everyone with skepticism. I'm more worried that you look at some without skepticism.

That's not debunking anything.

Was any evidence provided that needed 'debunking'?

They moved assets into place & waited for an opportunity to act. That's not coincidence, that's "a good plan" ok? Trump's been warning them for months, but it went unheeded.

I heard in confidence that Iran was about two weeks of having THE bomb. It would be scary if they could get it.

BTW, Americans pay income tax wherever they are.

"If you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the rules for filing income, estate, and gift tax returns and paying estimated tax are generally the same whether you are in the United States or abroad. You are subject to tax on worldwide income from all sources and must report all taxable income and pay taxes according to the Internal Revenue Code.

Many Americans living abroad qualify for special tax benefits, such as the foreign earned income exclusion and foreign tax credit, but they can only get them by filing a U.S. return. For further details, see Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad."
