She never grew as an author, she just got better editors after the first book.
I read it as a young whippersnapper and I put the first book down halfway. Then I noticed that people who enjoy Harry Potter was mostly children and people who didn’t really read books.
If you read 10-20 books off the recommended classics of the 20th century and then go to HP, you will despair.
I tried reading the books but just couldn't get into it. Is the first half of the first book a good representation of what the rest is like? Or does it get better?
HP is popcorn literature. The first book goes weaker than a couple of the later ones, but as another poster said, that's really the efforts of editors and publishers, not the author. The core issues are omnipresent, but they're fine enough reads to leaf through once quickly across the course of 2-3 free hours if you're stuck in an airport or something.
There'll be a few this time. Can't get around it. Ron's parents, Draco's parents, Harry's parents and stepparents, and Harry himself will get together with Ron's sister.
I think after the Snape casting people didn’t care as much ir were saying it isn’t as bad. Still a bad casting but I’m not watching the show. I’ve read the books
Don’t forget Snape is black now.
Calling him[self] the Half Blood Prince is going to go well.
They should have followed tradition, and made Ron Weasley black.
Casting director had dyslexia and casted ginger
Black Dumbledore like RobotChicken did in their videos on YouTube/Adult Swim
I was honestly expecting that
Harry looks like a lesbian
So does Ron, Hermione looks like a boy from jungle book
Like a young Bill Mitchell.
read the books, they're way better than the movies

The best way to get through the books is if you have a grindingly tedious commute and listen to the audiobooks in 30 minute chunks.
Make sure you get the Jim Dale narrated ones. The Stephen Fry narration is downright annoying to listen to.
They improve dramatically after the second book and the last two are wonderful in their scope and character motivations.
Don't forget the rule. No white couples allowed.

Gives new meaning when calling her mudblood lol
That's exactly the reason for them to remake it.
I agree not that I care, but are they going to start off in the first book or they gonna have to do something totally different
Starring Rachel Maddow as Harry Potter

I haven'T given a shit about harry potter in 25 years.
Also this niglet girl is ugly as f (and so are the other two actors)
Given Emma Watson's public stance, she would have no choice but to applaud the choice. :)
The dirty blood soliloquy might end up in some memes.
Why does this even need to exist? Not like effects have gotten much better.
The billionth time they turned a ginger into a darkie.
Something else not to waste money on.
I thought the Harry one was AI got to be honest..
"Lore accurate"
law they shouldve casted someone like that actress that played Ellie in the show.. rofl. a potatoe face.
