Canada has single-handedly changed my position on Euthanasia. It has become clear it is a democide machine and should be treated like any extermination camp. Military action against government-sponsored euthanasia programs should be a foreign policy red line.
I don't care if someone chooses to kill themselves, but good lord, the government must be criminalized from involving itself.
It was supposed to be last resort only granted to people suffering from terminal/incurable disease that caused pain that could not be alleviated by any other means.
It didn't take long for it to be extended to depression, chronic pain after trying only limited options, old people who previously signed a form even if they actively resist and say no when the staff decides to do it.
''Healthcare'' professionals'' are now actively suggesting it to patients. It was at first explicitly said to be forbidden to suggest it to patients, it had to be them who brought it up. Didn't last long either.
There was a mini media scandal after some disabled minor celebrity got suggested she could get MAID since she complained the insane delays to get mobility accomodations made her life Hell.

The same thing happened with a veteran on a suicide hotline. Imagine calling a suicide hotline in a moment of mental health crisis, and they recommend suicide.

Chronic pain I can see the merit in it. I'm setting up a living will to request the plug to be pulled if I'm on life support. I'd rather end it than live with severe chronic pain that made my very existence difficult.
For me it was a Dutch or Belgian woman, Nancy something. Instead of helping her work through her issues resulting from her parents being emotionally abusive misogynists, the medical authorities told her her parents were right, mutilated her and finally euthanised her when the surgery didn't work.
I might support euthanasia in principle, but I know it won't be placed in the hands of a pro-life Catholic who would only dole out the Emperor's Peace with extreme reluctance. It will be abused, just like abortion is, because the people who regulate its use will be the same left-wing death cultists.

Maybe some people can debate whether or not an abortion could lead to mental health issues later on in life, but there's no way that having thirteen abortions because you won't ask your sexual partners to wear condoms won't lead to mental health issues in the woman. Bitch your womb is a graveyard.
