AI isn't taken seriously enough to spit in the face of anything. If you come to "controlling entities" with something like this you just get laughed at.

He's not complaining about this because it's AI, he's complaining because it goes against his leftist ideology. He always does this routine where he plays dumb and says stuff like "why do you guys even care about this", "y'all are overreacting", "can't believe this stuff triggers you guys lol". This guy was never going to have the resources or ability to hand-craft this message on his own. So without this tool, AI, he was just not going to put anything like this forward. Maybe he'd make a tweet, but that's as far as it would've gone.
The content is good--it looks good, sounds good, and the message it conveys is utterly needed right now.
Would you prefer that instead of this, he would've/could've done nothing? That's the result of your objection. You're not objecting to the content, you're griping about the process. Well, the options were use these tools, or do nothing. Personally I'm cool with this message being able to be produced, no matter what tools were used to do it.

AI slop is disregarded quickly. It's seen as low effort, and treated as such.
I'd prefer that we have tools in a society to help people learn and hone skills, and not just prompt and AI to do all the dirty work for them.
The content is also shit. It's soulless, it's rehashed old memes, and it feels like a caricature, like AI only learned about england through Mr Bean. "Shakespeare and Dickens, Harry Potter." I mean come on. It's a joke.
If you truly, genuinely think the only option is to use AI to animate existing memes, or nothing...holy shit I pity your life.
It's not "laziness," it's putting creative tools in the hands of people who don't have any other options.
Think this through. Either everyone with something important to say has to develop the artistic and technical skill to put out hand-crafted work of this sort (ahead of time, just in case they're going to end up using it) or they have to hire people who have these skills and rely on them to make the content according to given designs.
Do you understand how slow and complicated and prohibitive in every way this is? This is why I said that without this "lazy" solution, the content would simply not exist.
Your version of how things should be is simply not tenable, not if you want good messaging to prevail. You're advocating hand-cuffing non-"creatives" by arbitrarily withholding technical tools from them that historically have been hoarded by "creatives," who are overwhelmingly metropolitan liberal elites.
This isn't about what the "only" option is, it's about what options are available to people to make themselves heard, at what cost. You are calling for completely arbitrary stagnation, and your tactic for achieving this is scolding.

The objective isn't to make "art," it's to spread the ideas and striking while the iron is hot works. If this makes one Brit go, "that's a good point," I don't care if it was done with pencil, paint, or AI.
