Sounds like an open and shut justification for invoking the Insurrection Act. The real question is whether Trump has the balls to do it.

I suspect he does but there's probably some prep time needed to put logistics in place to squash the immediate backlash that will pop off the moment word gets out that they're rolling in the military to put an end to this. The left will use it to rally for full on violent overthrow of society so they can finally usher in their Communist utopia. If you're going to open that Pandora's box you need to have everything in place to deal with that inevitability before you pop the latch.
They should include volunteer militias in stuff like this to get more people onboard. The biggest fear for normies is that they'll be wrongly caught up but that disappears if they're able to clearly signal their allegiance.
