the chances of an individual being involved in a shooting are extremely slim, both in the US and Australian. even if the chances are higher in the US, being involved in one shooting at all is still extremely rare for a given person.

A key principle of persuasion is you can't refute a narrative by denying it, you must provide an alternate, counter narrative, and you must repeat it louder and more often.
