I lived and worked in DC when I was just a right leaning libertarian. I worked for government contractors and nonprofits alongside political appointees, elected officials and career bureaucrats. You can hide your power level all you want, but eventually they will catch a whiff of nonconformity. You won’t laugh at the right joke, or maybe you laugh at the wrong joke, but everyone outs themselves in subtle ways and our enemies are hyper vigilant. When this happens you become quietly blacklisted and your career at that organization is effectively dead in the water. I'm not talking about hitler jokes, I was just a right leaning libertarian that didn’t hate white people and that made me an extremist in the beltway.
In the future, nationalists and the adjacents should learn to do what their opponents have done to them in the important institutions and even in the small forums and fandoms. This is the gatekeeping101. Rather than testing them with initiation, I think testing them with group dynamic every now and then is far better way to prevent them to act out of line. There is a place that does subtle gatekeeping pretty well and that is kiwifarms even though I may criticise that place a lot. They don’t treat kindly to autistic spergs in general and doesn’t matter if they have far-left ideology or they are muslim, so most members try to keep in line. Once they have history of sperging out, they get rewarded with pink triangles, a symbol that's more likely to give them lifetime ban. To me that’s the very least we should have done, so we can prevent totally avoidable incidents such as young republican telegram leak next time.
That quote was in response to Nick Fuentes telling his Groypers to infiltrate the institutions and take power from the inside.
I don't disagree with the quote, but at the same time, I think nominally right people should do it anyway. Why? To put progressives on defense, to make them react, to make them look over their shoulder, to take away their initiative, at least in a small way.
Conservatives have stopped trying to get into the places progressives dominate, and I think that is tactically erroneous. Sometimes it is tactically useful to charge headlong into your own destruction, which the role Torpedo 6 and Torpedo 8 served in the Battle of Midway. Those squadrons attacked with 12 planes each, and only 2 survived from Torpedo 6. Torpedo 8 was shot down entirely, and only one man survived, but, this attack drew the Zero air cover down to low level, which gave the arriving dive bombers a clear sky to attack the Japanese carriers, which sank 3 of them.
Yeah at best you can be a spy and sabotage or report what's happening to others, but you're not going to reform the mafia from within.
Agreed. I don't doubt the veracity of the quote, but it doesn't take away from the fact that we need right leaning people to infiltrate institutions en masse. Even if most get weeded out, if the influx is great enough, the ones that avoid detection can represent a meaningful power shift.
Everywhere seems to exclude me and fuck me over, the gatekeeping is already too extreme against depressed and isolated incels.
Dude, I'm one you call friendless, once depressed volcel. Seriously, I have nobody I can talk to in the meatspace. At first it's hard but you get used to. You just have to make do with the circumstance you are stuck in. Maybe this is why I rely heavily on Japanese contents for escapism.
There is a reason why I call for heavier gatekeeping. I have encountered various interesting people in reddit, I found out there were some pretty suspicious people were lurking in KotakuinAction major sub. When I looked back that guy's post history, I have seen some red flags to guess he's a glowie. The dude I was once arguing with had a marine background and like Devin Stack (the guy I'm quoting in the OP) even worked as a government contractor, probably not FBI or more well-known ones but still the three letter agencies. When he was posting in KIA subreddit, he was playing it cool like some sort of hippy millennial but I found several posts that sounded like bragging how he was just manwhoring various Japanese women behind his wife's back and explaining what was his background working as contractor.
The other guy that was lurking in KIA I'm sure is a pedo. This one in particular is the type to worm in the club pretending to be reasonable but as someone that argued with him in the past for multiple times, he was the typical hairsplitting, obfuscating rabble rouser who couldn't help but leak out his support for far-left causes. I'm sure we have someone like that even in this community. Not just one, there used to be multiple people with contrarian opinions who frequently plays devil's advocate to far-left issues.
Lastly western game industry... no, western entertainment industry heavily gatekeep people like we always have known. To me gatekeeping is necessary evil to keep salacious people out of leadership position. I think I had enough of nepotistic talentless people dicksucking and patting each other on the back. The last thing the group or small community needs is the guy like that rabble rouser trying to earn the trust and raise his values.
There needs to be room for discussion, especially when it comes to topics that are treated as black and white as "pedophilia" is now days where people have been brainwashed into treating the age of consent like some ultimate decider that can never be lowered or changed in any way for any reason regardless of the arguments presented.
Race should come above all else, we shouldn't split hairs over matters of slight policy.
Oh god I just looked at that post and you are absolutely the type to call everyone a pedophile while ignoring all rationality. You're the kind of schizo who shouldn't even be allowed to speak or reproduce because you are too retarded to acknowledge think properly.
Dude I don't normally accuse people of pedo but you know Samuelbt has some warning signs. I'm kind of offended that you are saying I'm ignoring rationality. Sounds like you are the one that likes to ignore rationality and call everyone schizo.
I've been labeled a pedophile probably hundreds of times over the years just for pointing out obvious cause and effect of current sexual policy.
Infiltration will work far better if you don't start at the top.
Here's a great example of the underlying psychological problem of the right. People naturally think of DC itself when the word infiltrate comes up.
There's many rungs on the ladder, you don't start at the top. Sure it's impossible to infiltrate a DC think tank for example. But your local mayoral race can be won with a few hundred votes and not being a retard.
Then you are in a position to create space and benefits for like minded people who can progress the ball further and go deeper. It's a team project that requires co-operation. Everyone immediately thinking they will infiltrate the top is terrible strategy.
If Fuentes had said "take over a boat" it would mean 1,000 people would try to knock on the bridge door and claim to be the captain now, all while ignoring the "help wanted" signs in the understaffed engine room.
This is why I think Fuentes is a fed, he encourages people to take action, and ensures that it's is devoid of strategy and directionless.
I think the largest reason that people get shut out for perceived sleights is because as you climb higher and higher, the competition you will face gets steeper and steeper, so you really need to have your shit properly in order if you want to survive there.
Having to laugh at an unfunny joke to prove your political loyalty?
That's literally networking 101. You need to signal you will both "fit" in, but also fluff the correct nuts when the time comes. This applies just as much in the political office building as it does in any other office.
It's not just joke but having some casual conversations like vaccine issues and assigning a right-wing guy as the partner to work as, etc... These little things add up to see what he's like. It's not about kicking someone out, it's just banning him from any kind of promotion.
Then you get mindless conformists in power. It might not sound bad to you now, but that has its own long-term consequences. If you want to keep power, you want people who have talent to work for you, while also guarding against people who want to undermine your mission.
it only works if you're in control
Power matters. Anything else is just window dressing.
Interesting holding up Kiwifarms as an example of positive moderation/gatekeeping.
A problem with KF's moderation is that it still revolves around the cult of personality surrounding its ooperator Joshua Moon. And his capricious janny impulses & desires.
It's commendable what Jewsh has built and managed to maintain. But unfortunately, despite the site's size & cultural role, the moderation policy & hierarchy never evolved past "It's my site and I can do as I want to."
Anyone who praises KF's moderation wasn't around for the last few years of "TERFs are the exact userbase I want and represent what KF is meant to be" that the site went through.
Something that only ended because Nool accidentally offended their queen bee, and her little cabal left the site to jerk off in Discord while setting up raids.
I mean this kind of happens naturally within a group, we don't need to codify it. If someone isn't fitting in you stop inviting them. The problem is trojan horses that tend to suck up to mods pretty early and gain a foothold with one or two that prevent them from being banned.
