Nothing has changed. He hates that he was found out but there's essentially no repercussion aside from the bruised ego, which is always temporary with them. He knows he is a piece of shit but his goal was always to make his followers hate what he hates as validation. He wants the people who criticized him to hate themselves as much as he does, and now that his discontent has spiked, he'll go back to it.
He'll play the 'poor innocent me' card for a few days, then double down on the toxicity. The veneer over his whole life - the dog, the mansion, the backdrop - is an attempt to cope. He can't stand to be alone with himself. He can't help it.

When a narcissist doesn't get what they want, they lash out. I really love the irony of him spending so much time and money on a dog he only got as a prop to improve his image is what ruined him.
