There are very few good live action adaptations of animated movies/shows. I honestly can't even come up with one right now. Because they're entirely unnecessary in the first place.
Alita is a good movie. I've never seen Gintama but the trailer looks like the typical Japanese live action adaption which I personally am not fond of. Though I suppose for Gintama it might be quite fitting.
I was talking specifically about live action adaptation of animated movies/shows not mangas/comics/books. If we include them there are plenty of good adaptations but many of them are also vastly different from the source material.
Yep. These commie retards in the west think they know better than actual asians in asia in making media. Almost every character in asia is nice on the eyes or at least not repulsive.
No matter movies, shows, games or whatever.. they always pick average at best asians.. its like they dont want people to see pretty asians for some reason. They arent show casing asians in the best, ideal light.
For all the bloviating the left does over 'cultural appropriation' they treat groups as a monolith more than literal nazis do. All Asians are the same and can be slotted in interchangeably, don't you know? Meanwhile, in reality, Asians who have movies made about them would rather be replaced with white people than the wrong kind of Asian (which is what happened with a movie about college students counting cards in a casino)
My favorite example of this was the movie The Great Wall, which on announcement got a huge amount of controversy for putting Matt Damon and Willem Dafoe as the main characters in a Chinese movie set in historical China. The standard "Last Samurai with Tom Cruise" cries.
Then it came out the Chinese production behind it specifically sought those guys out for their movie to marvel at how awesome the Chinese were and give it Hollywood appeal (instead of being a "foreign movie"). Because they would rather two random white guys travel across all of Asia to stumble across them than let any of the lesser slant eyes in their movie.
They seem to have gotten their aspect ratio way off in the casting process haha
2D > 3D seems to be a bloody rule at this point /s

Alita Battle Angel?
Gintama?
I think those are good

Does the lord of the rings count?

Everyone forgets the animated lord of the rings....
No. I haven't. Peter Jacksons LOTR wasn't an adaptation of the animated movie.
Nobody wants fat Vietnamese chicks representation in films, not even the Vietnamese!

Oh yeah. The one where kevin spacey, the gay rapists where all his accusers die, was in?
At least they got the race right.
Squared and fat face when the character has a sharp profile. They even ignored the long hair and went full fat girlboss power.
rofl, have you even seen the show? Mai looks like a live-action Lego character, but nothing beats Azula's 'Terminator Dark Fate' moment.
Even if you wanted to get into the live-action remake, you couldn't, because of the casting.
Why must all of the women be fat and ugly?
Is that the fat girl from the Disney Star Wars films?
Nope. Its a different fat Vietnamese with the surname Tran
Poor Zuko.
