Alita is a good movie. I've never seen Gintama but the trailer looks like the typical Japanese live action adaption which I personally am not fond of. Though I suppose for Gintama it might be quite fitting.
Does the lord of the rings count?
I was talking specifically about live action adaptation of animated movies/shows not mangas/comics/books. If we include them there are plenty of good adaptations but many of them are also vastly different from the source material.

No. I haven't. Peter Jacksons LOTR wasn't an adaptation of the animated movie.
