Ed Boon, MK creator, is a cuck for diversity and had no problem turning his life's work to shit to help the agenda along. The last expansion he cooked up turned the cyborgs into strong women wearing power armors. He literally made Cyrax an African-accented female super genius who invented the suit she wears. The whole thing sold so poorly that the publisher killed work on further Mortal Kombat DLC and pushed him onto his next project, likely another Injustice sequel.
MK fell long before that, but yeah, Cyrax was my MK3 main and it hurt to see that. Glad I don't patronize Netherrealm games.
