I still don't understand how hospitality work fits in any kind of special need. It is a nice air conditioned job that frankly beats retail or cleaning public restrooms, and it is not very essential post Wuhan with less traveling business meetings.

Because it's one of the job sectors that's been so thoroughly flooded with cheap foreign workers for so long that all of the businesses operating in that sector have completely adjusted to that cheap labor, as if it's the norm, such that if the foreign workers were deported most of those businesses wouldn't be able to operate properly without lots of restructuring (and cuts to CEO pay). It's essentially a lot of "woe is me" coming from really rich people who are screwing everyone else over and got used to it, employing slave labor while screwing over the native population, and they kvetch at the mere hint of taking away their slaves.

Almost every tourist town has at least one h/motel run entirely by Pajeets minimum, if not more. And the rest are then staffed mostly by illegals doing every part of the operation except maybe the front desk, unless they have a daughter that speaks English pretty well.

It would absolutely collapse most of them overnight, and likely take with it a lot of the tourism industries.

Which would be a good thing for everyone, making half the good towns in America not be completely destroyed by out of townies ruining any enjoyment you could have in your own home.

They also cycle owners to attempt to dodge other regulations. This also happens alot with gas stations.

Oh you have a fine for john Patel? I'm sorry he went back to India and sold it to me, I'm Nicki Patel.

Meanwhile, hotel room rates are totally insane. If you want anything other than the absolute bottom of the barrel chains, it will cost you an arm and a leg.

That's the inevitable death spiral that occurs when society prioritizes money and profits over all other considerations, including the health and wellbeing of the people. Companies import cheap foreign workers, push women into the workforce en masse, depress wages as much as possible, while simultaneously charging their customers more and more. People erroneously think that the competition between businesses would stop that, and in some sectors it does. However, many sectors silently agree not to compete like that, because they (the CEOs) all tacitly understand they stand to gain a fortune by screwing everyone over.

Its because trump is in hospitality via casinos and hotels. So he must be biased with that. Now agriculture.. not sure why.

Hospitality is also where people want to go, almost by definition. Unless it's some motel that only exists as a rest stop between here and there, they're going to have people they can hire.
