It was not economically necessary to invade Poland, Austria, or Czechoslovakia if they were willing to simply slow down on socialist spending schemes, but that simply wasn't an option. The Nazis invaded Poland because a) all jews must die to save Europe, and b) National Socialist Economics understands that if you clear out all of the poles, slavs, and jews from Poland and use the vast Eastern European landmass for resource exploitation, then you can have an Autarkik (self-sufficient economy).
