The corporate media has also failed to adapt from their strategy that they 'hyper-partisan millennial youth audience' is out there waiting to save them and buy all of their garbage
What made them think that audience was out there to begin with?
The Progressive capture of HR, Advertising, and Marketing as a result of the Democratic Party's success and the Obama Admin's corruption and direct interference in the media landscape.
The reason has been their prostelization of politics, and even open degeneracy
Their skill as journalists is garbage as they mostly just repeat press releases, or put out nonsense content that no one reads
The corporate media has failed to make any adaptations within the medium, they are still operating as if it's 2012.
The corporate media has also failed to adapt from their strategy that they 'hyper-partisan millennial youth audience' is out there waiting to save them and buy all of their garbage
There is open animosity between the journalists and the audience
Developers are being explicitly silenced and threatened by journalists, and these are statements coming from the devs themselves. See: KCD 2
Uhm, but KCD 2 was a total success for them. It's been subverted with DEI cancer and is basically a humiliation ritual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhIXIsJqFZQ and they got people to buy it by exploiting the reputation of the first.
Well, you're interpreting my bullet point differently from what's actually in the video.
The Developer for KCD 2 was complaining that he felt like the was going to be threatened and harassed if he didn't make overtures to Polygon after what Polygon did the first time.
Tactically, yes. Strategically no. Yes they won at 'owning the chuds'. Strategically they have continued to show that they are still nothing more than social terrorists, and have zero interest in ethical conduct, verifying the necessity of their destruction.
Nope. It’s just the rise of YouTube and twitch. There have been several attempts to establish more politically neutral or right wing gaming sites, and they have all failed. Because streamers and YouTubers have completely replaced traditional video games journalism.
You missed the point. It's not about right-wing gaming. The point is that the journalistic medium of written investigations and reviews isn't being pursued because it's not mass consumable like YouTube and Twitch are.
Them after their media companies close down: the audience wasn't there to sustain us.
The audience since gg that WOULD have sustained them had they FOCUSED on gaming hearing them go out of business: BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD, SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!
I don't think it would have. These sites were losing money even in 2014, and GG was basically a way of maintaining their hegemony over access journalism against YouTubers.
That failed and they never adapted.
I think they need a kind of pay-walled high-quality investigative journalism to look into the details of how these games are developing and with good, long-form, analysis. They'd have to then mix that in by doing interviews with gaming video sites like Side Scrollers and the like.
The takeaway I took from that video (and it's worth a watch, IMO) is that they went from critiquing the game as it stands, to critiquing the game through a progressive lens.
And if you disagreed, they turned that attention to you, and started critiquing the players instead.
So you've got gaming outlets like Polygon that wholesale shifted from doing the job to trying to force change through intimidation tactics in the industry, and outright being hostile to the audience that actually buys the games.
The fact is, we don't need them. A youtube video made by people in their living room that actually shows gameplay videos with zero commentary will move more units than a place like Polygon, Kotaku or IGN.
But it’s important to understand that this shift to streaming and YouTube was going to happen regardless. The absence of neutral or conservative viewpoints is not why the traditional video game journalism industry collapsed. There were several attempts, in the wake of gamergate, to establish more politically neutral or conservative gaming sites. They basically all failed. So there wasn’t a gap in the market - there was just no market.
The problem we face is that it takes twice as long to remove BS as it does to add it.
They've been at it since 2007, and went completely nuts in 2014, and then criminally insane in 2016.
So it's going to take a good decade to purge the infestation. It's a slow moving beast, so we have to be patient. Not that I'm particularly fond of watching things I enjoy get destroyed. But it will get better. In time.

Basically: The State Department

The humiliation ritual in KCD2 is very Jewish, and Gitz is basically an unpaid JIDF operative lol

Nah I get that, but I'm saying it worked. They got exactly what they wanted. That wasn't a loss for them. It was a huge win.
Tactically, yes. Strategically no. Yes they won at 'owning the chuds'. Strategically they have continued to show that they are still nothing more than social terrorists, and have zero interest in ethical conduct, verifying the necessity of their destruction.
That's why Hogwarts Legacy was such a triumph too.
They tried to take on a behemoth and failed spectacularly.
And just like KCD2, Hogwarts Legacy was completely pozzed. There’s a tranny in the game ffs.
Hogwarts was a great showing of how many people's entire ideology and life is "the opposite of whatever the Left is doing."

Based Polygon was never going to work.

That's also true. By then the lunch had already been half eaten. Too late for a magazine, and not enough of an audience to pick up any profit.
Every day I pray for a gaming crash to purge through the rotten wood of the forest and cleanse the floor for new growth.

Yes, let this be a lesson that gatekeeping was always correct.
