This argument is no different than the one over loli, with the same motivations, and frankly, I am on Melonie Mac's side of the argument. Gratuitous sexuality in a game doesn't make it a good game on its own, and I think a lot of people today emphasize overt sexuality in a game as a response to the woke scolds who give us androgynously conceptualized character art.
This argument is markedly different from the one over loli because sexuality in video games does not by definition involve minors. To conflate the two is dishonest.
Melonie Mac is just another hectoring, lecturing, finger-wagging, insecure, attention-seeking feminist griftwhore whose aim is to control male sexuality by giving men no outlet for it other than to waste enormous amounts of time and money on women like her who aren't worth the effort just on the off chance they'll be rewarded with mediocre pussy.
I can agree with that argument in general, but not on freaking Tomb Raider, a preexisting franchise where a part of the protag's character is her exaggerated, uh... sexuality. (nothing like Elexis Sinclaire from SiN but still) Make the games you like but guys with pixel waifus are naturally going to be up in arms when you take their games away because of modern sensibilities.
There are maybe 5 people in all of KiA2 that will get the reference to Elexis Sinclair and/or SiN. Congratulations. :D

Anyone who played games in the 1990s remember her.... and we were also all emulating the main protag's facial expression in that ending cutscene where we got caught out looking instead of thinking about shooting.
(plus they used to have a bunch of two-page poster spreads of her (for promoting the game) in the old PC gaming magazines)

It's a shame we didn't get a "proper" sequel. I heard the creatives were forced to clamp down their vision for Emergence and make it a more generic shooter, but were told if it was successful they were going to take the leash off for episode 2. I guess we'll never know.

Not really (what is though? Gacha games?) but as far as I can tell the whole reason Melonie started whining about this topic is she got called out for defending the Tomb Raider remake's censoring of a poster.
Some gacha games are definitely coomer bait, or Stellar Blade with the alternate costumes.
I missed the poster thing, but Melonie's biggest tweet on this issue was calling out The First Descendant for a booty dance emote. She's a little too emotional, but it is a real problem. Sex and figurine culture has hollowed out large sectors of anime and gaming.
If it was being argued from a place of sincerity and noble intent, the argument might have some ground to stand on.
Melonie Mac did none of that, she is only against it because it intrudes on her territory and power as a woman when guys jerk it to anyone who isn't her, and once her miniscule attempts to shroud it in right wing terms failed immediately defaulted to the same insults and low IQ defenses any other woman or Leftie does when doing so. There is a reason why the phrase "Woke Right" started being used at the same time she was relevant, and why anyone who thinks it was purely a "Psyop" is retarded.
I completely agree that gratuitous sexuality has a time and place and shouldn't be the default, nor is it a mark of quality on its own. But that's a differentiation to be hard decided once the barbarians are no longer at the gate.
That is a normal and predictable turn of events, as is the overshooting of the mark into gratuitous sex for the sake of gratuitous sex. This was always going to happen and I'm not going to shed any tears over the return of fanservice to the ecosystem.
Gratuitous sexuality is a green flag. You know a game is likely to have zero leftism when the female characters have been made to appeal to straight men.

That's better odds than the entirety of the industry right now and an even starker contrast if you compare it against AAA studios, so I'll take those odds.
