Bugs bunny in drag is problematic because it shows the absurdity of it to kids instead of enforcing it
"Lady, if you don't find a rabbit wearin' lipstick funny, den we got nuttin' ta say to eachodda."
"Wait a minute! That wady in wipstick! She was the wabbit?!"
And one of the only characters to immediately see right through it?
An Ozarks hillbilly buzzard.
Short is "Backwoods Bunny"
Taking original Looney Tunes down and pretending it's because you're afraid Bugs dressed as a woman will make the Fanta Fuhrer's Gestapo swoop in on you is exactly the kind of malicious compliance we need severe backlash for.
Wouldn't the Fanta Fuhrer's Gestapo just be the Gestapo?
"This is part of a new plan whereby the streamer will prioritize adult and family programming. Children’s programming, such as Looney Tunes and Sesame Street before it, doesn’t fare as well and is no longer viewed as a priority. Other spinoff versions of Looney Tunes remain on the service, including six seasons of 2020’s Looney Tunes Cartoons, two seasons of 2015’s New Looney Tunes (the third season and some episodes from Season 1 are not available), two seasons of 2002’s Baby Looney Tunes, 2021’s four-episode scripted podcast Looney Tunes Presents: Bugs and Daffy’s Thanksgiving Road Trip, two seasons of 2023’s Tiny Toons Looniversity and its corresponding 42-minute Tiny Toons Looniversity: Spring Break special (though its winter spinoff is not streaming), five seasons of 1995’s The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries and two seasons of 2022’s Bugs Bunny Builders."
Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with not prioritizing children's content. Just sounds like commies erasing the past like usual
I’m curious as to why Sesame Street is considered a target now? Tf did Elmo do to the commies?
This is the most offensive thing here. Who actually cared enough about this abortion of a show to not only preserve it long enough to be put on streaming, but also save it from the chopping block before anything else?
Everything else you could argue is just them keeping the "newer" works to try and control the IP and recoup costs on them, but that single outlier proves otherwise and that it absolutely is them erasing the past.
"We'll put on all the shitty new cartoons but not the old ones people are actually interested in watching"
This is going to keep happening into the future. If you don't trust the availability of your favourite classics, an 8tb hard drive is under $150 these days and is more than capable of holding all your torrented gems. This stuff only stays alive with people like us keeping it safe.
This is why you need to own your media.
I got them on DVD
MeTV still has a block of looney tunes in the morning. Classic stuff and MeTV toons has a bunch
Need to make room on the server for programs about trans kids
We need to make a list of the cancelled ones - I've found a few here and there, got the original Tom and Jerry uncensored set when it came out in the 2000s (back when people like Whoopi Goldberg had to do an intro saying it was good to see these older cartoons as is to properly understand history) and I've found a few of cancelled Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips) but I didn't even know this existed!
Let me guess, the good shit like this was removed?
“Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?”
“No!”
"...Neither did I. I-I was just asking."
