It's always depressing how easily brainwashed people are.
What did America do? Wrong guy won the election. I thought Democracy™ was so important...
Even though the Russia outrage is fake and gay, I at least get invading your neighboring country making you a pariah nation. On the one hand, the USA has been shitting up the world for ages anyway, and people either just didn't care, or whined impotently. On the other hand...the US hasn't added additional bullshit on that level under Trump. So, if (and yes, we're speaking incredibly hypothetically) these mouthbreathers had any consistent values, they either would have already been shunning the big bad US, or they'd be fine with us.
Although Trump has been changing things internally, it's nothing non-Americans need to freak out about.
Yes, but Democracy™ means overthrowing the government, declaring any elected candidate who doesn't support your coup a traitor and cancelling elections.
I at least get invading your neighboring country making you a pariah nation.
I love that they always specify 'neighboring country' as if that is a mitigating rather than an aggravating condition. Yeah, sure, going to the other side of the world to invade a country that is no conceivable threat to you is much better.
On the other hand...the US hasn't added additional bullshit on that level under Trump.
That's exactly the problem with Orange Hitler.
they either would have already been shunning the big bad US
Not to mention the many European countries who have been deep state puppets.
it's nothing non-Americans need to freak out about.
Non-Americans will freak out about whatever the television tells them to freak out about.
I love that they always specify 'neighboring country' as if that is a mitigating rather than an aggravating condition.
I can see it both ways. On the one hand, it's a more understandable invasion, on the other hand it feels more immediate and threatening to outsiders. The US does imperialism from afar, and has (sort of) good PR. "Imperialism" on your border is somewhat easier to scare people with, even though it's still massive propaganda. Russia also wants to take and hold at least parts of Ukraine. The US (ostensibly!) is just going in to bring freedom and democracy to their enemies. Even thought it's the same thing, I can see why one is more easily painted as an "invasion" than the other. It's all optics.
That's exactly the problem with Orange Hitler.
Sure, but it's not the NPC normie argument. They're not whining that he's not expanding the corporate empire, they're whining about Fascism™ and Safety™. And the foot soldiers at least seem to actually believe it. They've consumed their own BS, and honestly believe the US is some despotic hellhole now, under Orange Fuhrer.
Non-Americans will freak out about whatever the television tells them to freak out about.
Many such cases. Innumerable.
I'm also just hoping Europe doesn't go for the trifecta and start yet another world war.
On the one hand, it's a more understandable invasion, on the other hand it feels more immediate and threatening to outsiders.
Why though? They sure didn't feel "threatened" when Azerbaijan invaded Armenia, hell, they were funding its war machine.
This outrage, like every other outrage, is manufactured. I saw more images of civilian casualties in the first week of Russia 'Ukraine' than I did in 20 years of deep state wars.
The US does imperialism from afar, and has (sort of) good PR.
Yup. The whole 'western' propaganda apparatus is second to none... while persuading everyone that there is a 'Russian propagandist' under your bed.
Sure, but it's not the NPC normie argument. They're not whining that he's not expanding the corporate empire, they're whining about Fascism™ and Safety™. And the foot soldiers at least seem to actually believe it.
As you say, there's a real reason, and then there's the reason that's fed to the rabble. The problem is, people here really don't know anything about the US, so it's difficult to even begin to dismantle an entire edifice of preconceptions and propaganda.
Imagine if all you knew about America was what you saw on CNN. For decades. Never any personal experience, nor any contact with anyone who had personal experience.
When people have personal experience, that is a good antidote to propaganda. The same people who think that Trump is the worst scumbag in the world, also don't like immigration and are unafraid to say it to me (a colored).
They've consumed their own BS, and honestly believe the US is some despotic hellhole now, under Orange Fuhrer.
But that's true. I saw three American prosecutors talking and laughing about how they arrest and imprison people for posting 'insults' and 'offensive content' online. And then they laughed about how they take away people's phones, and that this is even worse than the other punishment, because "your whole life" is on your phone.
I'm also just hoping Europe doesn't go for the trifecta and start yet another world war.
This outrage, like every other outrage, is manufactured.
No argument here.
Imagine if all you knew about America was what you saw on CNN. For decades. Never any personal experience, nor any contact with anyone who had personal experience.
That's a really important point, well said. Europe seems to falsely believe all of America is what they also falsely believe Texas is. Guns and violence everywhere, rednecks, absolute anarchy. "Hate speech" and racism running wild. Absolute barbarity.
When people have personal experience, that is a good antidote to propaganda. The same people who think that Trump is the worst scumbag in the world, also don't like immigration and are unafraid to say it to me (a colored).
Yeah, I had someone visit from Europe, and they were conservative (European "conservative") and they knew covid was bullshit, hated their own government, hated the level of tax...but also thought paying your taxes was basically holy and, most surprisingly...that the US needed to fund the Ukraine war to protect Europe from Russia, for Global Stability™.
Man. I always keep my cool, and get along with everyone, but I was starting to get pretty pissed off. I still was polite, because he was a guest, but the fucking nerve, especially from an alleged conservative. Come to my country, say it's my duty to pay my taxes to wage war against Russia, so Putin doesn't roll through Europe? Absolutely fuck you. Go back to Europe. Or stay here and get a new perspective. But that shit was straight up disrespectful.
But, like you said, it was just from ignorance, and an extremely skewed perspective.
Europe seems to falsely believe all of America is what they also falsely believe Texas is. Guns and violence everywhere, rednecks, absolute anarchy.
Well, I can't say that I'm too happy with the crimes rates there either. But they have falsely been persuaded that it's legal guns. In their egotism, they have not even considered that you don't want to live in the middle of nowhere in a vast expanse like the US without being able to provide for your own protection.
Actual crime in the US is underplayed. It's only played up when it serves an agenda. I'm not sure what they have to gain by persuading a continent that is 95-97% against free gun ownership that gunz r bad mkaay, but it is.
but also thought paying your taxes was basically holy
Basically the opinion of everyone who is 'respectable' in Europe. Everyone hates politicians, they hate 'the government' (meaning the politicians in the executive), but they love 'the state'. I'm closer to them than I am to the average American, in that I believe in more social services and e.g. regulation of employment, but since they use our taxes to screw us, fund wars and import refugees... they can get f'ed.
Next time someone says that dodging taxes is bad, I'll just say "yeah, they might not be able to fund as many wars".
most surprisingly...that the US needed to fund the Ukraine war to protect Europe from Russia, for Global Stability™.
Depending on the country, 'conservatives' may be rabid neocons. I assume this guy was not Bri'ish, or you would have said so. But it's also true of a country like Sweden, and even Poland. Some people have an axe to grind with Bad Russher.
to my country, say it's my duty to pay my taxes to wage war against Russia, so Putin doesn't roll through Europe?
Putin is simultaneously always at the point of being defeated and also at the point of conquering Madrid.
Well, I can't say that I'm too happy with the crimes rates there either...Actual crime in the US is underplayed...
I know we're talking per capita, but considering we're also talking crime in the entire country, it is important to look at cities and scale. For example, New York City metropolitan area is almost twenty million people. That area has more people than around 130 countries (individually, not combined, of course.)
Again, I know we're talking per capita but, point is...that's a lot of capita. This is true for other countries too, but a lot of the crime is happening in the cities, and then often within a few blocks or neighborhoods in those cities.
My point is, America doesn't have a crime problem, a few of our cities have crime problems, largely because they refuse to go after criminals. Important distinction if we're talking the safety of a country as a whole. Unless you're in a crime-rich environment, you're basically never going to be affected by crime. Some of our cities just suck.
Noooooo...
They gotta go. They gotta go. We're going to build a big, beautiful wall, to keep out the Europeans. Two walls. Canadians, we have to talk about the Canadians, folks. Believe me.
I think they're expecting Canada to be invaded and they will fight it off with their slogans. They have no idea that Trump plays monetary politics and will make Canada so weak it joins the USA.
It's always depressing how easily brainwashed people are.

I'll try to get a better archive, but there's a lot of lefty conjecture about safety.
Democracy means that they win.

Counting the Napoleonic Wars, we're already at 3.

And that's a good thing?
Fighting the wrong battle at least.
The one country where you aren’t arrested for making a joke is “anti-liberty” now.
Freedom is slavery, I guess.
"Be like Canada," they scream.
"What is Canada?" you ask.
"Not America," they proclaim.
Yes, not arresting people for making jokes is discrimination against the humorless and a violation of numerous international treaties.
The guy you don't like being in power making vague, theatrical promises: dictatorship
Some guy invoking an Emergency Act in order to quell protests: hekin' wholesome
Canadians are retarded faggots.
So "Concellation" is a cringe leftist meme & parody about a perpetual convention that isn't happening because of COVID safetyism?
And these same leftists are now repurposing the meme for their fake convention because TDS Canucks won't cross the border for other cons IRL?
Yeah, it was nice at first but lefty really fast.
Who?
For fear of their own liberty?? Lol these commie fucks are braindead
"Unsafe"
Why?
I don't even understand the point of the post - "Unfortunately, Concellation is back on but for an even stupider reason"
WTF - did you WANT it cancelled? If so, why do you even care about the reasoning?
