There are movies with the same basic plot with different races. This is just like Hollywood to remake a movie for the umptenth time and pretend they are bravely doing it for the first time with a more ethnic cast.
I saw this movie so long ago I completely forgot the premise. People used to write "Single White Female" etc in classifieds to find the roommate that matched them best. That privilege is only extended to beautiful ethnic peoples of color now.
They could go the Snow White route and insist the “white” in the title refers to something other than race. Or maybe they’d go a more “modern day” title. “Bonus hole having person without a partner who is of significant socio-cultural privilege“ doesn’t quite roll off the tongue, though.
I'm guessing they're going to make it where the boyfriend in the film will be evil this time around and the two join forces to stop him.
Also, that article lists various other (rubbish) upcoming films, including The Thomas Crown Affair starring... Michael B. Jordan? Ha. Hollywood is full bore into the woke culture and there is no stopping it.
