Because he's being deliberately pushed by Hollywood. Probably for the reason you see above. Celebrities are tools with which they push their agenda.

Definitely. But in current year they're all being pushed. I don't think there is even a single actual movie star with enough clout to tell Hollywood to fuck off left.
Game of Thrones, Last of Us, The Mandalorian, Narcos, etc. etc. He's been pushed into entertainment media hard and always makes a big show of parroting the correct frothing-at-the-mouth leftist talking points.
Celebrity culture is dying, but they're trying their hardest to cultivate new ones who will be obedient and push all the right messages.
I call it "the BJ theory." Some people have to be unbelievably amazing at giving head in Hollywood to keep themselves getting jobs. I believe that's how Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina are still finding work.
I've seen him in GoT and Mandalorian. He has a decent range. I don't think it's fair to call him untalented.
