I don't want the government autistically collecting information since I've seen firsthand just how much data the government can collect. There is software out there that straight up should not exist.

Yeah, I don't actually want the government to collect all data. Publish what it has, yes. Collect what it doesn't, no.

I'm not even sold on it publishing what it has simply because I have a better idea than most about some of the kinds of data it has. Can't really say more due to NDAs and not wanting to get gulaged, but yeah. It's a good sentiment but I would carve out exceptions specifically to protect normal people.

They choose not to publish crime stats of late.

Whatever they have, it is our right as the citizenry to know.

You still haven’t understood that.

No, I understand that perfectly. You mooks are missing the key word in that tweet, which is "maximally". The type and magnitude of information that the government collects behind the scenes is truly upsetting and not all of it should come to light for the same reasons you don't want your browser's search history published for everyone to see. This isn't about the government, this is about shielding normal people from having the government dump all of said citizens' dirty laundry out in the open.

We do need to introduce privacy, data collection limit laws, and it is absurd the current status quo of our system.

Nonetheless, all the information you referenced is already available. I don’t know how, but I need merely start buying data from a handful of vendors. They have your browser and system fingerprints, the nodes that you connected through, etc.

and I'm telling you that that is surface level shit compared to some of what I've seen collected during my time as a federal contractor.

Crime statistics? Go ahead and publish it in full.

Literally everything they've ever collected? Bad idea.

National security reasons or philosophical ones?

I see it in the same way I see guns. Everyone needs one since we can't uninvent technology.

Guns are outright superior to not having them. Guns are the great equalizer. They protect the weak. The absolute hypocrisy of the weak faggots that hate guns is that without them they would have to live in fear of raw force.

Yes, and the fear that the government can track our phones, when we can't track theirs is a different type of weapon.

There can be no hatred here, but we have to see the world for what it is. I knew it, Elon’s autism and truth seeking.

I'd rather have a small government that doesn't get in the way of people autistically collecting & publishing factual data about demography, crime, immigration, outcomes, health, economics, science, the natural world, climate, space, etc., etc., etc.

And if someone complains to that small government, the government's reply should be "That's your problem."

Census data isn’t? Municipality crime stats, collaborated by the FBI when they pretended to do good? Who they’re letting in and if that’s a positive or not?

It's the government's job to make policy decisions based on ideology, not data, you bigot!

How do you think the government will get data on health, outcomes, economics, science, "the natural world", climate, space, etc, etc, etc? And what makes you think that none of that data will be tainted by political motives, as we've already seen in the crime stats which completely omit entire cities and intentionally mislabel the demographics of criminals?

This idiot is asking for government to be all powerful and all invasive, to know every detail of every interaction, human or otherwise, the world over. And to do so from a secular materialist position such that there is no power, authority, or will above or outside the state. This person wants government to be god.

Article 1 of the Constitution established the census. It’s one of the few things that actually is their job.

They’re also the only ones that can publish crime data. But that should be about the individuals committing crimes. I want a government that thinks about individual citizens not demographic groups

Just publish Epstein & Maxwell's client list, unedited, and let the chips start to fall. Or dominos, those too.

Or dominos

Pizza memes would be an ironic twist.
