“Censoring on metacritic has gotten completely out of hand, not a smart move if you want to stay relevant aka in business coz this whole nwo/great reset/woke psyop has failed, narrative’s crumbling and everybody not bailing out in time will go down with it.”
This is the example given in the article on why we need them to tell us and not strangers on the internet ( the above quote is a metacritic review),
Which they claim gives no decent data on the game, but then if you need to enforce draconian measure to hide poison then you know the quality of the wrapping is CCP, haha
This brand of “criticism” extends to YouTube where content creators aren’t bound to any kind of journalistic integrity.
I did not know whores and scum had a standard of integrity, haha
Anyhow the only thing I might agree on is that if the production standards is high enough (or they are starved enough, haha) then people will swallow poison such as BG3 among other things.
BG3 had an excellent act 1 and it was entirely due to early access. Magically all the added gay shit even in act 1 wasn’t until after release. They didn’t even really make an act 3 worth playing and act 2 showed a massive decline in writing.
One of the biggest problems with BG3 is the massive ludo-narrative dissonance between 1) the party starting out as a bunch of level one newbie characters and 2) everyone being an already-developed badass archetype within the story. Your mechanical growth as a character isn’t reflected in the progression of the narrative, so it feels like two very different and separate games.
Plenty of other problems, of course. Like the fact that most of the male companions are foppish, overly-agreeable soys while most of the female characters are martial classes and turbo cunts. But at least you have plenty of freedom of choice and some reasonably attractive character options.
I had only played BG3 as far as Forgotten Realms, so I got dissonance seeing Wyll and the others as Magic cards. If they are characters with a story already, then they're not the same characters that I ran with. It would be better to encounter famous characters as NPCs.
Act 1 in all those types of games is always the most interesting part. You get to create your character, decide how to interact with quests, and meet and decide your party. Its got all the hooks and freshness.
Act 2 is usually always a slump because its just trudging through the choices you made hours ago while the plot has to take you forward in the necessary beats one way or another. While Act 3 has potential, it has to competently account for all the choices made along the way and very rarely do they put in that effort to have that much differentiation.
Mass Effect is a great example. First game has massive potential, second game is completely throw away, and the third tries to account for all the options but fails to do so.
Act 1 was interesting and little to no woke crap, act 2 moved the story forward and an interesting setup but nothing wow except bringing back Jaheira - that I had to do a battle several time just to save her. Act 3 - was uninteresting, main story made no sense, the buildup was a letdown and I didn't even care about the game by the end. It didn't help that you hit max level way to fast in the game.
Ah, an interesting account. I actually borrowed the game on my brother's PS5 just to get a feel of the game, and I can sort of see where you are coming from. I think I had just gotten to level 4 or something and I had only reached the outskirts of the goblin stronghold while looking for the Githyanki creche. It's competently made, certainly, but I don't know if I will find it satisfying enough to ask him for some more rounds at the game.
They say black is a culture and white is just a color. So I'm gonna say Black and White because when I say Black (generally) I don't mean Nigerian, and when I say White I don't mean Jews.
I actually spent a couple of hours watching Az SUFFER through the game. Lies are all they have- it's not JUST identities and ethnicities. Story is shit. Writing is shit. The people they want to prop up the most are fucking hypocrites that would be thrown away by most players if the option were available (you know, something most Bioware "choice-driven" RPGs have?). THE COMBAT IS FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN DOGSHIT.
They literally pull one of the only beloved characters from DA2 to jam him into the opening, just to "kill him off" while his writing makes him increasingly faggier by the minute.
Things like that get lost in the woke storm, but even without all that nonsense it was still written by vindictive and imbecilic retards taking a dump on every part of the game's history.
Sounds like the last terminator movie lol. Kills off john conner and have some scrawny ass, lesbo terminator be protagonist with geratric sarah (which is fine) and some mystery meat.
Or killint off joel from the last of us 2 and having an ugly ass lesbian girlfriend and a tranny abbey.
People act like you’ve made some grand mistake in life if skipping nine woke games causes you to miss out on one good one. Sounds like an amazingly successful strategy to me.
The thing I immediately noticed when perusing the assembled professional reviews for DAV on metacritic is that I have never heard of more than half of these outlets. Upon further inspection, most of them are tiny and overtly leftist platforms giving bonus points for purely ideological reasons. I have no idea what qualifies a website to feature in this collection, but it’s obviously not size of readership.
Point being: none of these “professional critics” are any more qualified to give reviews than your average YouTuber, and the latter tends to have far more viewers and influence. So what we have is an astroturfed consensus from a bunch of activists whom nobody reads or respects, and yet this somehow constitutes the bill of “professional appraisal” of our entertainment products?
These people used to infiltrate and hide behind major banners like IGN and Gamespot. Those outlets are still woke and retarded, but now they are surrounded by a ton of upstart progressive leftist websites with no business telling gamers - or anyone - what to think. The metacritic system has been completely captured.
I want you to really read that review. Let it nestle within your brain for a second. Now, what did you meaningfully glean from that? What information in that excerpt will help you decide whether Veilguard is worth your time? That the game has… characters of different ethnicities? And that’s… …bad?
Who would even use ellipses in an article? Is this an Instagram post?
Here’s the same “journalist” screeching because someone modded the black guy in BG 3 to be white.

'Journslistic integrity' means following AP guidelines that dictate you capitalize 'Black' but not 'white'.

Black woman on cover, especially ugly/butchy? Pass. ESG/DEI or sweet baby? Pass. Ugly female characters in general? Pass.
Its just that easy. With 9 out of 10 success rate that its gonna be a shit game.

Okay, you know what, they got me. I'm triggered.
This is one of the most offensive and bullshit statements ever made in Games Journalism.
"Journalistic integrity" in the clown world dictionary translates to beholden to a centralized establishment authority.
They’re trying to claim the same qualifying certification standards of a lawyer or a doctor, except there is no such thing for journalism.
Then consider that the certification boards for these professions are rabid Leftwing political organizations at this point.
well, yeah they have a purpose. how else would I know what woke shit not to buy?

Funny, cause it was the game journos who were telling me it was supposed to be 10/10.
No one is arguing against game journalism. We don’t like game journalists because they useless, corrupt, trash humans.
