If it’s the same protagonist, they’ll make her gay. If it’s a new protagonist, they’ll make her black, gay, and trans-coded.
👆This one. They might even try to be subtle about it. There's not much subversion you can really do in a game like this if you stick to the formula, but in one of the cutscenes we'll get to see a touching moment of her sharing a warm embrace and kissing another female character she met earlier.
They’ll also “turn up the cunt”. She’ll be chock full of sassy one-liners steeped in feminist vocabulary.
It’s always the same story. Insufferable feminist devs self-insert into popular media and then cry misogyny when we reject their horrible feminist avatars. I go out of my way to avoid these miserable manipulative people in my real life. Why would I pay $70 to spend my free time with such characters in my video games?
Amanda Ripley was created midway through the prog takeover of the games industry when some people still actually cared. She's not a beauty queen, but she's not fat either. Didn't turn out too badly. Of course, that's an automatic lesbian nowadays.
How will we tell the difference between the Xenomorph and the tranny?
Xenomorphs are more passive
The Xenomorphs have more feminine features.
They're also probably less screechy and malicious.
Aww crap. I came in here to post that I'm looking forward to it but your post is probably how it will turn out.
They can’t not do it. Sucks.
The same company that's been drowning in mismanagement and piss poor projects for a decade now.
And now Disney own the IP so will be breathing perfumed farts down the devs’ necks.
What could go right?
Alien, is there another franchise that's been constantly bad that still has the cache it has.
Terminator? Basically the same deal: two real good ones, then increasingly downhill. Jurassic Park[/World] maybe?
Michael Crichton wrote the first JP (effectively) and I believe actually wrote the 3rd screenplay. The second one sucked. So he did that for a while, and I think they were good.
You are right on both.
Honestly, the issue with Alien is that its a massively multimedia franchise that most people don't even know exists.
For every bad movie there was a solid non-mainstream game or comic or whatever that came out. In fact, its filled with extremely good games across dozens of genres for decades but most people only know Colonial Marines (for the meme) and Isolation (which hit mainstream press).
Which I imagine is what keeps its value as high as it is.
Dark Descent is a solid entry too, and I'm not even a huge fan of squad tactics games. You're right it's not really mainstream either though.
I liked it, but it needed more time cooking to add more enemy types and levels to keep everything from being so samey. But there is a really solid baseline there I hope other games pull from.
But its a good example of a game that no one even knew came out and then it just passed by with zero acknowledgement. In fact, the most press it got was people complaining that it was "woke trash" very briefly.
Dang that might be fun
Maybe they won't fuck it up. Would be nice!

So both suicide squad (rocksteady) devs and hyenas devs (creative assembly) arent getting laid off for their trash? Same as concord devs not being fired as well...
Anyways.. same creative assembly that uglify harley? Made joker into a disabled gay twink? Made mrs freeze into an ugly butch asian lesbian? Made dead shot and his daughter black?? Lawl... this game has no chance rofl.
Also studio 434 with halo.. cant capitalize on the top 5 most iconic and lucrative franchise?? They are renames as studio halo.
These same assholes will make the same slop. Lol.
Well, that specific one has been a push since the movie with Will Smith. Next time they reboot the comics, they’ll probably do it over there.
Yet another check in the column of "no race changes ever," since it gives ground for subversives to say "you didn't mind it in the movie!"
Ignoring all the globohomo that will be pushed into this game, there's a very likely possibility that this sequel has a significantly inferior alien searching algorithm compared to the original. That's kind of important to get right and I doubt they'll do it correctly.
Yeah, excellent AI pathfinding and behavioural logic is not something you can pull off an asset store shelf and slap into a game. You have to spend a lot of time and resources creating hierarchical subsumption for good AI based on conditional level layouts and player motivations.
I haven't actually looked into the behind-the-scenes development of the AI in the original Alien: Isolation's design, but I would be willing to bet that most of its AI behaviour is all systematically bespoke. So it's not like they can just copy-pasta a plugin for the sequel. If they have a bunch of DEI hires for the AI engineers, then expect the AI to be trash.
