The thing about this remake was that the initial reveal was also the announcement that it was compromised by the uglification consultants, and getting hyped for it became difficult. Silent Hill was one of the series from what in retrospect is turning out to be a golden age of gaming, and even people I know who were super fans of the originals are giving this a pass. Even in small concessions, woke is woke, and woke fatigue turned into exhaustion a long time ago.
Resorting to poisoning nostalgia is getting tired and we should not be rewarding modern publishers for it. It just gives them incentive to revive peacefully resting IPs and turn them into garbage. When this fad fades away, we'll talk.

Watched some gameplay on youtube and twitch and I gotta say the game does not feel like a silent hill game, seems to fail to capture the atmosphere and style of the original in my opinion. It comes off as just your average run of the mill horror game instead.
It’s like the Until Dawn Remaster. Done by people with no sense of Suspense Horror and totally blow the games atmosphere.
