They're waiting just long enough so they can "remaster" it and squeeze their pay pigs harder. Purely for the humiliation of course, the money is just a bonus. If they cared about money they wouldn't require PSN accounts for PC games.
Plus, they can update a remaster for "modern audiences".
I don’t think FromSoft would like that. Last thing they need is to piss off Miyazaki like Konami did with Kojima.
Considering its a game long metaphor about how important the entire cycle of menstruation is to the point where literal abstract alien gods are dying of envy to access and use it, I think any attempt to "woke" it will manage to worship women less.
I doubt most of them understood that's what it was about and would actively destroy it unknowingly, but it would be funny to point out when they do.
lol. Do you have to have a subscription for pc online play?
I haven't even started on elden ring, no more man
they really dropped the ball on this one. there are emulators that already play it fine, they've lost to the pirates.
I remember hearing about a study once that found that when company released a drmed version of a game and a drm-free version, the cracked version of the drm version got torrented more.
That makes sense, a majority of pirates are casual or rabid consumers who follow familiar rituals. They aren't interested with in-depth technical understanding, and lack strong social convictions or good taste. Those that do would have to be paid to play today's triple-a slop.
well, that and the people who actually crack the games are kinda the opposite; they enjoy diving into the technical stuff, and defeating DRM is as enjoyable challenge for them as playing the game (think dark souls, but on steroids), so the more challenging the DRM, the more fun they have taking it apart, piece by piece.
"Fine" is a strong word, because its really not at a point where most people's PCs can handle it.
But its also rapidly approaching that rate and if it keeps at that pace it will be before the years end.
"Can I just ask with reference to your second point, when you say souls don't develop because people become distracted... has anyone noticed that building there before?"
What was that thing about hats?
"Oh, uh, people aren't wearing enough."
Bloodborne not getting a bigger focus is definitely a shame, but it is more of a cult favorite as opposed to a successful game (in comparison to their other releases).
I know its a console exclusive which hurts the sales of course, but by comparison DS3 and Elden Ring, even Sekiro sold much more.
I'm not sure it would make them as much money as everyone (including me) thinks, but I would absolutely love either a port or a sequel made in the vein of Elden Ring, not open world but just larger, way more weapon options and ability options essentially, but focused on the trick weapon mechanics as opposed to art of wars or something.
I think it would be a hit. Elden Ring brought a lot of new comers in.
Fair enough it would probably do pretty good at this point, I mean I have talked about it for years with my friend group so I'm down for it any time.
I never played it but would be interested for sure. I'm trying not to learn too much about it, too, to avoid spoilers in case they do eventually port it. I'm keeping the dream alive.
Fingers crossed, after Ghost of Tsushima and Last of Us made it I was hopeful for more things like BB, but maybe some day.
Comparing the two non-mainstream releases, Bloodborne got 7.5 million compared to Sekiro's 10. Which actually makes Bloodborne the easy winner because of its single console exclusivity and it being released earlier in From's lifetime (meaning less "will buy every game" fans).
Also any sequel would ruin a lot of what made it good. The lore would need to be raped to keep going, as it always happens to any Lovecraftian story that gets "explained more." And it would be bogged down by all the Current Gen From Soft baggage, much like Armored Core 6 did adding stagger bars, that they seem to be accumulating with each successful game.
Just letting Bloodborne be ported would basically give us a sequel anyway. There is like 10+ unused bosses in the game files that people have found, on top of a bunch of enemies at that. You can access them with the Dev Code Chalice Dungeon, though they are incomplete. But if the game was ported, modders and the like could actually work on and finish those and likely build half a game's worth of not content from it.
...If I knew anything about game coding or bloodborne for that matter, I'd be smelling an opportunity here...
Jesus. For $300 million dollars you could have probably bribed theGaben to finally release Half Life 3.
Was half life 3 actually teased, or is it just a meme? I'm legitimately curious at this point.
The lead writer at Valve published the script for it after he left the company a while back. He changed the names around to obfuscate things but it looks like they made him take it down anyways.
I think it's still floating out there somewhere.
Latest theory is that Source 2 engine can't handle it. Yet.
Could be. Honestly, I figured valve made more money off of steam than off of making in-house games anyway, so they just said "fukkit" after portal 2 and focused more on that and hardware.
There have been some people digging into Source 2 files showing that Valve has been working on a Source 2 game involving Xen and HEV suits, but Valve themselves have been mum on the subject.
Off topic, but looks quite a bit like the room from RoboCop.
ED-29 would be better...
Oh, the room, right, right...
Dick, you're FIRED!
Its literally being ported via emulation
Lookup ShadPS4
It runs with multiple resolutions and you can disable all the shit effects like motion blur and chromatic aberration
honestly, I just found the meme and it made me chuckle, so I shared it, lol.
Infamous and Sly Cooper sulk in the corder
Considering how bad both the games were after Infamous 2, and the fact that Infamous 2 literally ended all possible plot threads, its probably best to let that one slide.
At least Sly Cooper only has one shitty final game to ignore.
Inafmous was okay. Never really got into sly cooper, though. Nothing against it, just wasn't that interesting to me.
We all have our favorites, though. =)
I can't see why they haven't.. It would definitely help boost the Bloodborne servers on PS4 with Crossplay which is basically dead ATM
yeah, but they probably want to retire the ps4 servers and move them to the PS5 side so people will actually buy a ps5, lol.
I will say I like the ps5 controller, though. Best PC gamepad I've ever had...
I probably wont bother getting a PS5 but the pads look slick. I like the PS4 controllers but the Joysticks sway if they absorb too much moisture or sweat Bought another 2 cause they are harder to get now
yeah, I didn't bother getting a ps5... for that cost I could get a decent gaming rig and be able to use it for whatever I want. I just use the controller for playing games (btw, linux has come a long-ass way in supporting gaming, all I had to do to use a ps5 gamepad was plug it in, lol)
ps5 gamepads are a little bigger, which I like, because even though I have relatively small hands, the playstation controllers always gave me these weird handcramps...
I want to get a really nice gaming PC but I'm more focused on getting my own place first. Is Linux easy to use? I heard its hard to get use to but Windows sounds worse in comparison with censorship and forced updates
That's really cool about the PS5 controller tho does the PS4 pad not have functionality on PC?
oh no, ps3, 4, and 5 controllers are all plug and play in linux at this point. (as I understand it, the drivers are part of the kernel).
(warning: text wall incoming, sorry)
as for usability, linux is fairly easy, though I would definitely expect to get a little more comfortable with the command line. Even in windows, sometimes that's the easiest way to troubleshoot certain problems, but in linux you'll run into tools that work best from there.
installation is easy enough these days, grab an empty thumbdrive, grab a live image, install it using a tool, then change a few boot settings, pop the thumbdrive in and go. most versions of linux will install in a user friendly way.
I'd start out with one of the mainline distributions and get a feel for it, ubuntu or fedora being the big ones off the top of my head. there's a lot of flavors, and it can get overwelming trying to pick one when you're just starting out. once your comfortable with the basics, you can pick something more suited to your tastes, but yeah.
Sidenote: unlike in windows, if you don't like the interface/layout, you can change it. as an example, most versions of linux use something called Gnome, but I'm using KDE, which has a more windows-esque feel to it. there are others that are a bit more lightweight resource-wise, but i got comfortable with kde, and it works fine on a modern pc (and it's not nearly the resource-hog that windows is).
Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk, and welcome to the cult of the penguin🐧. lol
That's good to know I have so many PS4 controllers alot of busted PS3 ones too but might work if I get them fixed. My stepfather had a Linux mint on his PC and it was pretty easy to use from my short lived experience with it
Mint's pretty good from the little I've messed with it.
regarding gaming, WINE has existed for a longtime for playing windows software, though it has its limitations. When valve came out with Proton, it made things a lot easier, though.
...And Gog does a pretty good job of supporting linux as well, though most of the older titles on Gog work fine under WINE if for no other reason than they're twenty/thirty years old at this point...
No one actually wants souls games, but they will make money
The expression will eventually become the Emiri and Daw in the room.
