Trump picks these back stabbers intentionally, for plausible deniability for why his plans are constantly undercut. That he's part of the system, playing the role of "outsider", to slowly reign back in and neuter any effective resistance for as long as possible.
How many times can a man be screwed over, but keeps making the same mistake? How can a man's followers continue to support and trust him with such an obvious flaw? Most people, even half awake, are aware of how controlled things are. Why ignore the very real possibility that we're being offered false messiahs as just another form of control?
The question then becomes: how do we tell who our friends really are? What is the litmus test?
Gee, I don't know, probably not someone bought and paid for by Israel. Probably not a politician, of any stripe. An average Joe off the street is more virtuous and trustworthy than pretty much every politician you can find.
Does Trump not have a lot of actual friends who would help him out, who aren't in politics. Not one single law requires someone to be an establishment politician to hold office, or to be an advisor, or a cabinet member. This is why the repeated "mistakes" of Trump don't make sense. A smart man doesn't let himself get stabbed in the back twice, much less over and over for years.
I'd also add, that your attitude reeks of Republican voter capitulation. You might not have intended it, but you're tacitly suggesting that "this is who we have, and we have to deal with it". That's precisely what enables the two party system to persist, for people to vote for the "lesser evil", to tolerate people who constantly fuck us over and fail, because we try to convince ourselves that "this is the best we can get". BULLSHIT!
Right wingers rightfully abandoned the Republican party for the Tea Party years ago, and the Tea Party was captured and dissolved. The same thing happened with Trump and MAGA, and now the same process is happening all over again.
We deserve better than this. We deserve, and need, better leaders than this, if we're to actually fix our problems, rather than just bitching online voting harder [current year] until we're dead and buried, our countries captured, our people slaughtered, and the perpetrators reigning over the ashes.
I refuse to settle for "these are our only options".
How many times can a man be screwed over, but keeps making the same mistake?
An old ass man whose long past set in his ways, with an ego the size of the moon to avoid admitting he made a mistake in the first place and instead has rationalized it in his head.
We saw what it looked like when two pawns of the elite run against each other with Obama vs McCain and Romney. And if Trump never existed at all, the Right would still be a cucked, broken dog barely putting up a fight in the slightest like it was from 2003-2015.
I don't see Vance backstabbing Trump like to get power, but he grew up a Democrat and all his family and friends were Democrats so I think he'll be a disappointment to traditional conservatives.
But in 4 years he could usher in a centrist populism that is basically what Trump is and a lot of what Bernie Bros like is just common sense like "you'll get paid as much if you do as good a job" - that's not left or right that's just sane.
The guy who wants reparations for Blacks would have been better?
The only thing vaguely right-wing about RFK Jr is he didn't receive the post-WuFlu patch on vaccination testing and so believes the same thing that just about everyone did prior to 2020: that you should thoroughly test a vaccine before approving it let along mandating people take it.
It's a solid pick. Always be cautious, certainly. There's always the possibility he's a snake. But as an Ohio resident who has followed him very closely, I'm very satisfied with the pick.
I went out on a limb to tell family members to vote for him in the primary. Part of me was worried he would do a 180 and embarrass me. So far so good. Everyone is happy they voted for him.
Despite shifting a few points more red in recent cycles, we certainly have our fair share of RINO scum, but I'm willing to roll the dice on Vance.
In my eyes, he has the highest ceiling of any of the feasible choices I heard. He could potentially be an heir to American populism when Trump can no longer run. Or one of them at least. His floor is pretty much exactly where all the other likely choices' floor was.
You'd think surviving an assassination attempt would be all the leverage he needs for the nomination. Now, for them to cooperate when he's in office, that's another matter.
Hey shit-for-brains, I decided to make a separate post where you can use JD Vance's actual statements from different times to make a judge of character.
Maybe instead of making weird sexual innuendos about me, you try to stick to the topic you fumbled.
Mike Pence set off Red Flags forever. A lot of the Evangelo-Cons did because they were never as religious or conservatives as they claimed.
What I'm hand waiving away is the mountain of evidence, actions, and statements he's made over the past several years. Thomas Sowell used to be a Marxist, but I'm supposed to dismiss his entire academic history for 40 years because of "recency bias". No.
I didn't call you an Anti-Trump shill. I called you an Anti-Vance shill, because the media have been waging a war on him to poison the well before he mops the floor with Harris.
Right, it's unfalsifiable. Vance changed his mind on Trump from 2016 (if we assume those quotes are true). No one has ever changed their mind on Trump since 2016, and anyone who did, is obviously an untrustworthy liar. Therefore, Vance is obviously a subverter until some undecided decade in the future that you and you alone are comfortable with.
There's another possibility...

The counterargument would be: who the hell can he pick? It kind of seems like everyone is a compromised backstabbing liar.

My cat would be a better pick.

Sorry kid, calling Trump Hitler was a compliment
We can't vote them out - https://x.com/AFpost/status/1812946062111613031
Well, that could potentially seal the pick for the chosen people, anyways.
Who should he have picked instead? Criteria:
JD Vance is the assassination insurance.
Yeah among the feasible choices, Vance is the best assassination insurance.
rfk jr would of been way better its not even close. but I am sure Second Lady Usha Chilukuri will lead us to prosperity!
RFK Jr. is for things like affirmative action and equity. He's a leftist. The only thing he's right about is the covid shot.
Trump should appoint RFK to be the head of the FDA. Just based on pure entertainment value.
His VP is the least of his worries when it comes to being stabbed in the back. They don't do shit.
Trump is currently more worried about getting litterally shot in the head than metaphorically stabbed in the back.
Even the name is almost the same.
if you don't succeed with the -nce the first time, try again
If you're not careful, it'll be the -nce of you.

I'm sure that the VP pick is the deal he has to make with the RNC to lock down the nomination, just as Pence was last time.
You'd think surviving an assassination attempt would be all the leverage he needs for the nomination. Now, for them to cooperate when he's in office, that's another matter.
You all think Trump is an idiot I guess and learned nothing after Pence.
True, he's made some mistakes in the past. I think, or rather, I hope, he's learned from them.
Fox News is desperate to try and blow up a genuine conservative populist and you are absolutely doing everything in your power to damage that.
Nice that you didn't include any of his responses OP.
Which campaign are you shilling for? Where's OneTruePhilosoraptor?

I am okay with JD Vance. Why are you trying to smear me.
I support Trump/Vance 2024.
Vance has been good in the Senate.
He is my second favorite Senator after Rand Paul.
