My wife and her mother are so checked out of politics and culture they couldn't even fathom anything I would ever talk about. But hitting a personal sacred cow for them, and doing so this heavily and badly, is making it almost a joke to get them agreeing with me openly.
But have they changed it enough? “Maid” is a gendered term (as opposed to merman). So we should push them to change it to merperson. Also drop the “little.” It’s offensive to tall and/or fat people and belittling (heh) to midgets. How about “the merperson of indeterminate size?” That’s a family friendly story.

I'm surprised the Dead by Daylight tranny didn't have some relative looking to grift on them, because they had the perfect set up for it.
I think the issue is how many people will be willing to "claim" the tranny as their own and open themselves up to "why weren't you there" scrutiny.
