I'm not even sure what we're imagining here. The US stops meddling in the ME. That'll happen.
The DoD spends all the money Congress appropriates. They don't stop just cuz nothing really useful to do with it. So I think contractors will be fine.
Exactly. The amount of wasteful spending I have seen over the course of my career is disgusting. Entire server racks thrown out while still in the shrink wrap...millions of dollars just set of fire on the regular...
