Its not just the West, it seems that Japanese news media also hides the faces of Yasukes that commit crimes, out of fear that the Japanese public will become racist. And wikipedia does the same thing too (media.scored.co)

The Japanese are ALREADY xenophobic, they just don't let it stop their work.

Most news media is already bought and paid for as leftist propaganda since with both AI and viewing habits a lot of those are in a dying industry.

It won't surprise me if this is already backfiring since the yasukes are too loud and violent in their 'incidents' that word will spread to quickly to silence.

I'm going to borrow your spot on the top comment to remind people that Wikipedia keeps an edit history.

The image was bot-removed early November 2023: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=1995_Okinawa_rape_incident&diff=1184211267&oldid=1180860216

Looking at the edit history for the file: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1995_Okinawa_rape_incident_Perpetrators.jpg

00:00, 9 November 2023 Explicit talk contribs deleted page File:1995 Okinawa rape incident Perpetrators.jpg (F7: Violates non-free content criterion #1) Tag: Twinkle

To decode that in to non-Wikipedia bug-man speak: A user named Explicit used a Wikipedia script called Twinkle to delete the file, under the claims that the photo of them was not fair use.

I'm just going to point out that two of those photos are clearly boot camp graduation photos (the ones where you have your fancy top on and your BDUs pants on underneath).

Side note:

This article is within the scope of WikiProject Pedophilia Article Watch, a project which is currently considered to be defunct.

FUN FACT:

Yasuke's name in Kanji is two characters: "More" and "Help."

His name was literally "Another servant."

Odd how similar this is to other countries around the world.

It's almost as though there's some sort of international group that both wants to open borders and gravitates towards owning media...

I wasn't aware that English wikipedia articles constituted "Japanese news media".

You didn't read the article

Photographs of the suspect's races have been virtually absent from Japan's media. News executives were concerned that public anger over the rape would be further inflamed and take on racist overtones if the race of the suspects were widely publicized

racist overtones if the race of the suspects were widely publicized

Hate Americans (which are predominantly considered to be white): A-OK!

Hate the people who did this (which in this case happen to be black): NOT OK!

That lacks very important context: "when?" If there isn't coverage of events that happened 30 tears ago in contemporary reporting then gee golly willikers I wonder why they aren't talking about it now 30 years on. But frankly the real reason for a blackout here is US-Japan relations. You rarely will see US servicemembers being shown in the news.

If wikipedia of all things is admitting that the News executives didn't want to show their faces because of "muh racism" then its probably true. Why are you trying to argue about this? You've seen this happen time and time in the West and you think it doesn't happen in Japan as well? Japanese have become a lot less racist now than in the past, and you think the news media didn't have something to do with that?

"Wikipedia of all places" doesn't say much of anything. It's an old event and not in the news again. The fact that it's even being edited in the 2020s is an indication that it isn't people with new info to add about the event, but people with a separate agenda going through changing stuff. This goes both ways.

https://japantoday.com/category/crime

See how many articles feature mugshots and the like. It isn't many at all if any as of writing this. I'm sure these are joggers, right?

Kirato Wakayama, a former actor, and Kang Gwang Gi allegedly strangled to death Ryutaro Takarajima, 55, and his wife Sachiko, 56, in the garage of a vacant house in Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward between the night of April 15 and the early hours of April 16. https://japantoday.com/category/crime/2-men-face-murder-charges-over-burned-bodies-found-north-of-tokyo

The Miyazaki District Court found Yoichi Tsuura, who was a technical assistant at the National Institute of Technology, Miyakonojo College, sexually assaulted them by spiking their foods and drinks between July 2015 and March 2023. https://japantoday.com/category/crime/ex-college-employee-gets-23-yrs-for-raping-drugged-students

Maybe different cultutes just do reporting in general differently.

Even when explicitly making accusations that could start international incidents they don't DO photos in articles. Accusing someone of taking photos secretly of naked kids is not some minor shit. And the person accused is a public figure and they still don't do photos. https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20240514/p2g/00m/0na/067000c

It's important to remember Japan's laws are way different than the west. Truth is not a defense against defamation, for instance. So if you cause reputational harm, even if that shit is TRUE, you can be liable. Boats don't get rocked.

Why are you trying to hard to argue over this? i ask you again , do you think the news outlets in Japan have zero responsibility over Japanese becoming a lot less racist today than they were 90 years ago? You think Japanese suddenly became less racist for no reason at all?

Ok you're just dumb. Op is doing the same mindreading intent-assigning bs he cries about Dom doing to him and I can't help but notice you haven't acknowledged that the just don't do photos in news coverage for crimes, or tried to refute it. You shifted to "why would you entertain that there are other solutions and not just take Wikipedia's word on stuff then assign op's chosen explanation?"

I noticed you haven't answered the question on whether you think the news outlets in Japan have zero responsibility over Japanese becoming a lot less racist today than they were 90 years ago and are changing the topic to something else

You don't deserve the hate over this, we see on their TV reports they gladly show the perps getting arrested regardless of color. But I must also agree with the other guy that it's not worth arguing over. Japanese media is most likely on board with globalist (anti-racist) narratives as much as western media, even though this post isn't evidence of that. They are called "Mass Gomi" (trash) in Japan for a reason. I'd need to see counter-evidence to assume otherwise.

Black people cant be the only race that people actively have to stand up for constantly to not be seen as violent animals right? This is not a completely normal thing to do.

anyone knows of a good jewkapedia alternative? or like an add-on that basically forgoes the """latest""" version in favor for the reliable version?

like you literally have to dig deep through the "view history" to find the version that wasn't edited by a niggerloving faggot jew

No, that's Wikipedia, not the Japanese news media.

The Japanese news media tends to be more detailed about foreigners who commit crimes than when Japanese do.
