This reasoning shows why authoritarian governments hate gun rights, because the ONLY way for civilians to deter authoritarian encroachment is with direct violence. It’s why politicians have the audacity to cry about “political violence” while they are directly engaging in generational violence against citizens.
There are a lot of stakeholders involved who might want these whistleblowers dead, not just Boeing execs. Even competitors like foreign governments have a motive, if they don't want Boeing to unfuck itself.
They just need plausible deniability. As long as there's an explanation, no matter how tenuous, they know the media will run with it and cover for them.
