The “abhorrence” of physical violence in modernity is a myth. To understand violence you have to break down what violence actually is. The best definition of violence I’ve been able to create for mathematical reasoning is that violence is the intent to cause harm by force, with harm being the loss of time or money. This covers all modern variants of violence coined “generational warfare”. This reasoning shows why authoritarian governments hate gun rights, because the ONLY way for civilians to deter authoritarian encroachment is with direct violence. It’s why politicians have the audacity to cry about “political violence” while they are directly engaging in generational violence against citizens.
