Cult might be going too far. It’s more a matter of being fashionable.
There was a French bishop in the 18th century who remarked that wealthy women pick their religious beliefs the same way they style their hair, by fashion.
There is a reason why Psychology got its start with wealthy white women, and is still an industry almost entirely funded by that same demographic.
Once religion went out of style completely, they picked their victimization like an outfit.
In a way that would be worse. No they haven't been brainwashed to sacrifice their children at the altar of wokism - they do it because it's cool.
