Well, I do oppose arrogance, lying, adultery, and unnecessary working on Sundays.

As for bacon and shrimp cocktail, Acts 10:13-15 is instructive.

I oppose gay rights because sodomites are irresolute disease ridden pedos whose existence brings up a perfectly natural reaction of visceral disgust in normal people.

Also you are outright lying about what the pope said but we can't really expect anything else from an unrepentant degenerate.

What he really said was the priests are not prohibited from blessing, which is the equivalent of good wishes but in a sacred context, faggot "couples". This is bad enough but that isn't anywhere near to allowing with faggot marriage.

Oh I see the problem. You're confusing religion with democracy. Religion is about being morally correct, not pandering to the crass proles.

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." -Matthew 5:17

Your protestations to the contrary are Pauline garbage. Paul is to Christ what Kathleen Kennedy is to Star Wars.

My better question is should we as Christians follow the law? I always felt that Christ’s fulfillment meant we are free from those rules. Granted I’m no theologian so any insight you have would be appreciated. I know he gave us the greatest commandment which covers everything I’d say

The next couple sentences in Matthew 5 pretty much kick that to the curb.

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. -Matthew 5:19

The back half of Matthew 5 is taking the Hebrew to task for being hypocrites. He never says the law is wrong. Just that they aren't living up to it, and then sets an EVEN HIGHER standard.

Read Romans 12 13 and get back to me.

E: daggumit, my memory was off. Both are good passages though.

My memory was a bit off. The bit about submitting to authority is in Romans 13, but both passages are good.

Most Christians take Jesus saying that nothing that goes into your mouth makes you unclean to mean cleanliness laws no longer apply. Even saying he wasn't abolishing the law, he changed the rules on divorce.

So any of the books Paul wrote shouldn’t be considered biblical?

They aren't the Sermons, and calling Paul "the apostle" is like saying everyone at Lambeau deserves a superbowl ring for being really loud (which is basically all Paul was, figuratively).

In what way?

I only regard the Gospels as foundational. Everything after is fanfiction, as canonical as the Book of Mormon.

Remember: I AM QUAKER. From my perspective the Catholic church of Peter and Paul is itself a perversion of the original faith.

How many books got taken out by the roman catholic church when they standardized the bible? I don't see the book of enoch in there

Book of Enoch has more info in it about actual kingdom of heaven than all the others and the darkies are the only ones who kept it.... Brilliant

But how does that contribute to your argument that I'm wrong.

Christ's sermons in the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke do not support the later Pauline assertion that Christ was the end of the law.

I am saying bluntly, your (like many) rejection of the majority of the Mitzvot is, well, blasphemous catholic hypocrisy. A marketing decision by a 1st century bullshit artist who called himself an apostle despite not being at the proverbial table.

I have a friend who is a messianic Jew. Should we all be like that as Christians? Christ definitely said he didn’t come to destroy but to fulfill the law. Like with eating pork, I always saw the vision that Peter had to be permission

As I understand Christ's teachings...

Christians should aim to exceed the Jewish by not only keeping the law but also forsaking malice for forgiveness. Basically that even the crude law of Moses was just a tool for the times. Christians are not freed of it, rather they are tasked by Christ to transcend it. That simply living by the letter of the law isn't sufficient.

Now, on that note...

There are a couple items in Leviticus that I'm prepared to say probably could be scratched out, like the prohibitions on certain foods. Any time Leviticus marks something EXTERNAL TO HUMAN NATURE AND BEHAVIOR as bad, it is borne out of primitive science, and fair game for scrutiny.

We knew back then that trichinosis existed, but we couldn't explain what it was, so it was lumped into the category of things which are simply bad.

Paul is the only reason there are still jews today..... If it wasn't for paul separating the Christians from jews there would be no jews....Who shaped Christianity today? Paul and the catholic church..... A new covenant.... and the "mitzvah, any commandment, ordinance, law, or statute contained in the Torah (first five books of the Bible) and, for that reason, to be observed by all practicing Jews" ya i reject that shit.....

Well that’s the Mosaic Law, but I’m not going to interrupt a gay wedding ceremony. I wouldn’t attend a church that condoned it and my view of marriage will always be a man and a woman. It is legal and I’m not making any efforts to stop it. I know this is your pet cause so I’m sure you will have more wonderful messages for us. I was fine with the “we just want to be left alone” or “don’t bother us and we won’t bother you” mentality the gay activists had in the 90s. Massive overrepresentation in media and constant news articles popping up doesn’t help. I genuinely have zero interest in lgbt content or stories but they make it hard to ignore. A tiny percent of the population gets way more attention than is necessary.

Jesus did say a man shall leave his house and find a wife and discussed marriage as a union of a man and woman. Granted I know you think the Bible is a bunch of fairy tales. I won’t shut up about it. I’m an imperfect person that is full of sin. Doesn’t mean I’m not aware of what I should and shouldn’t do.

Believe me, I know where you stand. I’ve seen you bring it up before about there being gay or gay affirming Christians. Now I’ve discussed the issue with some and I’m not going to bug them about it unless they want a discussion. They believe salvation is through Christ. Granted I’ve seen Christian’s who approve of adultery or any other thing and justify it. I used to be your opposite and really tell everyone about the Bible whether they wanted to hear it or not. At a company outing a gay coworker told me about his church that approves of homosexuality. I’m just said that’s nice because I’m not going to attack him or tell him what I think unless he wanted a discussion.

Ok it shouldn’t be forced on people who aren’t believers. That is wrong. As for your point, I would need a more knowledgeable person to break it all down but the Christian’s who are fine with homosexuality can also be accused of cherry picking and going along with the trendy world. But I’m all for leaving people alone who aren’t interested. My only annoyance with the lgbt movement is the massive over representation in media for a relatively small percent of the earth’s population. there are plenty of old shows to watch and books to read. Not saying that’s my main reason for watching older stuff but as I get older a wholesome show like Little House on the Prairie really appeals to me.

I can answer whatever questions I can but there are things about the Old Testament that don’t quite apply to Christians today but I’m not the best to explain that. Jesus said a man shall leave his house and find a wife so that’s enough for me to see that heterosexuality is the norm. Yes, you don’t agree. I get you hate the Bible, Christianity, and the church/religions. Nothing I’m going to say will change your mind and nothing you say on the topic will change mine so I think discussing gaming or anime or nerd stuff is best. I’ll avoid responding to your religious posts since we have said our piece

This is why I always read and study the Bible. I’ll never know it all. I was thinking that I could talk to people who have a more theological background but whether I say it or someone else does you will disregard it so it’s pointless. I’m willing to make arguments but talking to you is like talking to a wall just like you pushing your love of homosexuality on me is pointless. No thanks on the atheist videos. I’ve talked to enough atheists in life. Not I tweeted to hear someone who hates the Bible tell me about the Bible lol. By all means, respond to whatever you want. If you think homosexuality is normal then more power to you. Nothing either of us can say will change each others mind.

Like I said from now on with you strictly nerd stuff. You have no real interest in Christianity besides being the edgy troll you can find all over the internet and I have zero interest in atheism because I believe we definitely have an eternal soul along with other supernatural experiences I’ve had that lead me to believe at the very least there is more than our 3D reality.

Anyone ever notice that people start shit with Christians over the Old Testament but never Jews? It's even funnier because atheist and agnostic people would generally believe Jews are the ones who wrote all the stuff they are complaining about.

And the Catholic Church didn’t approve of gay marriage. They said the stance on marriage is still the same.

He said a priest can bless an individual even if he was in a gay marriage not that they can bless the union.

Definitely in the wrong direction but not what people are saying, even the radio station I'm listening in the morning was saying that the pope was blessing gay couples - implying gay marriage.

Gays have the same rights as everyone else. Marriage is between a man and a woman, a gay man is free to marry a woman just a straight man.

For gays to make their case they had to redefine what marriage is, changing the language in order to make it seem like they are oppressed. They could have just called it something else and it would have been fine. In California it was civil union for a long time.

Also, how others have mentioned the pope did not allow gay marriage yet, just allows priests to bless individuals even if they are in a a gay union, not the union itself. Basically wishing them good will.

I agree, as long as they also repent and try not to sin. Churches did a very bad job with gays, it was uncomfortable so they pushed them away instead of encouraging them to join the Church and manage their sin rather then give in to it.

That was the period of tolerance, I may not agree but what you do is your business ended about 10 years ago, now I have to affirm or I get fired, schools are pushing it on kids, quotas for LGBTQ2SPI+ and of course you are not allowed to critique anything related to the alphabet people.

We are at the ridiculous point in time that if I don't like playing games with gay stuff in it you are a bigot and you are not even allowed to remove it in your single player game.
