I know it is being critiqued on every forum but there is something that people overlook.
What are the odds that the site was made by diversity hires and what does that mean for the future of warhammer? I know it is going woke bit by bit but I think they are accelerating the process.
In case anyone did not see the new site: https://www.warhammer.com/
Browsing is not only annoying but it is missing features like 360 rotating minis or have a paint suggestion. Also it looks like a popup from a torrent site.
There's some template with this kind of layout that's web designers seem to love. I've seen quite a few sites designed like this and it's very annoying because they like to hide stuff behind lots of menus making it harder to navigate
If it can all be templated then why not at least select a good template? They've realized they don't need to reinvent the wheel but then attached a wooden crate to the axel.
Websites have become template-spawn. One of my side hustles is doing research for a couple of people who do mall/retail history stuff (yes, dead mall stuff), and about 90-95% of malls use the. same. exact. template. And it's not like it's "all malls owned by one company" use the same template, it's every company. Simon, Namdar, Kohan, the only holdout is Triple Five.
But then, every aspect of American life is becoming homogenized. All meals must taste like all meals of that type, every town needs the same stores, everyone must live in the same houses and drive the same cars.
It feels to much like they put a lot of focus on advertising warhammer and very little on being functional
It's a Wix design right? my website is exactly the same.
I've noticed that almost every website is annoying as fuck these days.
They're being designed by morons, for morons, with all the profits coming from morons.
Or less caustically, most websites are nowadays being designed for small handheld phones in mind first and foremost, while designed by committee and directors instead of engineers and programmers, and they don't even consider actual usability until way later.
Looks like every other modern, sterile website designed by a bunch of liberal marketers who don't know anything about their target audience or who they're actually making the website for.
Depressing, but not surprising.
(Sorry, kids, but you're not going to get an Asian Geek Waifu playing Warhammer 40k. Yeah, that part had me laughing.)
3D Printer goes Mmmmyeeehhhhhhhh
It's not the best layout, I'll be honest it's hard to tell if woke or just incompetent. Games Workshop has long done boneheaded decisions in the rush for a quick buck that often costs them more than if they did nothing.
It just seems such a downgrade in terms of functionality that I can't explain outside of diversity hires. I've seen people complaining about their orders as well.
Wait it's affecting orders too? So they made it WORSE to get money from their customers...
I just remember this is the same company that cost us Astartes and Emperor TTS series. Could be diversity but they're in the UK, everything seems to be sliding regardless there right now.
No it didn't. He cried that it was going to, said it was an intollerable risk while trying to raise a family while taking an equally big risk in trying to start another IP, but there was no effective change in policy from GW there just hysteria and fans going wild, getting animators like sodaz to quit it entirely after they'd been hired bt gw. And he'd have never lost anything they tried against him, not that they were ever going to.
Other parody creators, like the flashgitz animations, are going along just fine. And they have furry genocide in them. If there's one thing GW would actually want to squash out, it's that. Archwarhammer was only made to remove the 'warhammer' label from his name, and you bet they want to get rid of all association with him.
Astartes as a fan film? Yes. Different matter. TTS, no.
Non-woke companies hire competent people.
Has some strong corporate vibes, almost like you'd find on a pharmaceutical company's website, only with less medical related imagery.
I had to laugh at the "talk to our experts" image and it's a Girl pointing at an Ultramarines box, a Girl who's obviously showered, has a modicum of social skills and danger hair. 3 strikes.
It's definitely a worse site - it's the mobile version of a website without the real version - but they still have the 360 rotating minis - you just have to click on the yellow circle in the top-right of a photo to switch to it.
I'm dumb, I still don't see it. If I click on a picture I see an x to close in top right. Maybe because I use brave?
View this page. From the bar on the right, click on one of the thumbnails showing a single figure. Then, in the large image, you should see a yellow circle with a cube and two rotation arrows in the top-right.
looks like some have and some don't. I was looking at a gladiator lancer and it does not have.
