This'll get shut down unless it's lobotomised to hell as an AI would look at the data, look at the films and go 'need the women to be hotter if you want to break even! Man needs to be inspiring for 10 million profit at box office! Stick to original storyline of this remake to gain more revenue from nostalgia!'

You are looking at it wrong, they are just going to push any claims of preferential hiring aside now and say "the AI is approving the script it isn't our fault."

Hollywood just got a scapegoat for everything they want to do. Expect film quality to deteriorate quickly.

So business as usual? Right now Hollywood is losing money FAST, most of it's projects are huge flops (cough The Flash) and they're losing relevance to foreign and streaming services, if their plan is scapegoat AI then they won't be around after 5 years to pander.

Hollywood is losing money FAST

This is actually not true despite the constant failures. Each of those failures is getting subsidized. The studios aren't losing money by having terrible returns, they are breaking even.

So this is just another tool to keep their feet on the throats of creatives who are trying to do unique work that they don't want. They want black versions of classic films, and that is what the AI will keep selecting.

As if those currently running Hollywood have anything resembling a soul.

The Warner Bros. movie division signed the deal with the company Cinelytic and will reportedly “leverage the system’s comprehensive data and predictive analytics to guide decision-making at the greenlight stage,” according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR).

Founded four years ago by Tobias Queisser, Cinelytic has been building and beta testing the platform for three years. In 2018, the company raised $2.25 million from T&B Media Global and signed deals with Ingenious Media (Wind River) and Productivity Media (The Little Hours). STX, which endured a number of flops in 2019, including Playmobil and Uglydolls, became a Cinelytic client in September.

While the platform won’t necessarily predict what will be the next $1 billion surprise, like Warners’ hit Joker, it will reduce the amount of time executives spend on low-value, repetitive tasks and instead give them better dollar-figure parameters for packaging, marketing and distribution decisions, including release dates.

Here's the real story buried in the details:

The AI system could also function as a risk-management strategy by helping the studio avoid spending big money on projects that would perform poorly with audiences.

Good luck getting any film greenlit that doesn't contain the programmed 'interests' which I'm sure won't be programmed by a bunch of Hollywood pedophile cunts...

Basically. Unbiased AI could run these places so much better and earn so much more (non ESG venture capital) money than any of these Hollywood bigwigs.

There will be more woke movies, but not because of this. Once it spits back a result like "too many blacks in the cast" or "hire an attractive woman to play the post apocalyptic lesbian" they'll quietly shutter the endeavor and go about business as usual.

Neural Network "AI" can only come up with mashups of its training data. By nature, anything it outputs will be generic, so an "AI" selected films will be the most mind-numbing, average films possible. It will prove itself useless.

You are assuming an actual, functional, unbiased AI. That is not what they are using. They are using the AI just to sort out 'wrongthink' in manuscripts.

Don't capitalize 'Black'? Nobody gets to see your work. Not enough women? Nobody gets to see your work. The word 'diverse' isn't mentioned? Nobody gets to see your work.

It is a new form of destroying creativity and funneling it into what they demand.

This is the kind of thing pattern recognition software would be great at, if you didn't design it to recognize patterns wrong.

This reads like the slush pile at a publisher's office is being sent to a grinder, and whichever one somehow surives is published.
