Yeah, that was hilarious. I guess the reason she's so much closer to competency than the rest of her team is because they keep going out their way to give her extra practice, even in matches.
As I watched a quick rundown (all TWELVE goals), I had to wonder what her outbursts of rage were directed at: herself (for failing), the opponents (for winning), or her teammates (for their absolutely shit defense)?

I think the problem there is that her defence can't contend with what's still a few big blokes up front - and they know it. They gave the Wrexham forwards far too much space to work in, and suffered for it repeatedly.
I'm guessing this is for Ryan Reynold's / Mac from IASIP reality show about them buying Wrexham, although I seriously doubt they will humiliate the US Women's Team further then they already did.
It was an abridged match, 40 minutes, and lots of retired players apparently were involved on the Wrexham side. I won't ruin the score but it is amusing to watch.
Lindsay Harris was best for her team and she let 12 goals in. But must have saved another 20. The defense was just no match for the body strength of the men. Any honest observer will note that the Womens FIFA team of the year - i.e the best women in the world, wouldn't win a single game in the EPL.
I honestly think any club team under 15 and most middle school teams in the US would beat them. And we don't really care about soccer. I'm surprised they agree to play u15 teams and participate in these kind of tournaments. It inevitably melts the facade of supremacy that they love to tout when complaining about compensation.
I don't even think it was body strength, primarily; the men just played significantly better soccer in general. The women had no ball control, kept passing the ball to their opponents, or even deflecting into the goal. Strength of course plays a part, but it was mainly a massive skill gap. The men had more skill, confidence, and just did everything smoother and faster.
THey play 'target goal' - which means after the 40 minutes they play until one team reaches the target. In this case since the score was 11-0 at the end the target is 12 goals. This means theoretically the opponent could score 12 goals and win - but normally its a golden goal for the higher scoring team as in this case.
A lefty family member actually tried to tell me he read that women performed better in some military test of running and fitness exercises than the men did, proving that women are better performers even in physical activities. I just laughed and rolled by eyes, but I should send him this.
I get the feeling actual women athletes know exactly where they stand against men, but I’m sure some non-athletic feminists were shocked by this result. Especially the kind who vocally support trannies in women’s sport.
But I don’t give much credit for the USWNT realistically knowing where they stand against men since they spent about a decade arguing they were “better than the men” when that was convenient to their salary lawsuits. (Plus the little discussed fact that the national team was just chasing the bag for their own limited roster — there is an entire women’s league in the US, where most of the players won’t make the national team, and the suing players didn’t seem concerned that the non-USWNT players get paid diddly squat.)
If it's a 1v1, keeper vs striker, the striker has way more options than the keeper.
The defence should be harrying the striker, not leaving them all the room and all the time they need to park it in the corner.
Even if you're smaller, you need to be closing the striker down, making him want to dump the ball onto one of his team-mates, so you get a chance at an interception.
Of course the defense was part of the problem. It's women playing against men lol the goalie would look like an utter fool trying to defend them as well.
"wE'Re aS gOOd aS tHE mEN!"
Not even close, even against 45yo+ men.
The goalie was the only one on the women's team that actually did anything. That defense is a sieve and a turnover machine.
I got a good chuckle when the goalie chucked it to a defender who promptly gave it up in the box for no discernible reason. Don't see that too often.

Well she was defending a shot on goal like every 30 seconds. You have to assume that she'd get to at least some of them.
You could just cut a highlight reel of her successful defenses and make her look like a badass.

I don't think this was specifically for it - but you can bet the some footage will make season 3. I think it's too late to be on Season 2 now
You could say ... they Wrex'd 'em .... YYEAAAAAHHH!!

It was 11-0 after half time? Clearly they were told to tone it down.

Thanks! I never heard of that kind of soccer!
It's part of the 7-a-side format tournament. They have other non-standard rues as well like no offsides
No offside is standard in 7man football, at least it was when I played as a kid.
I meant as opposed to standard 2x45min 11 aside

I doubt the ladies team went into this with misapprehensions. Their goalie did well.
It is flattering though. I too could beat ladies at football if I was a professional footballer!

Any goalie is bound to save a few balls. She spent half the game flopping on the ground after the ball was already in the back of the bet.
The problem, at least partially, was the defence.
