The Brits are working on common sense knife control. That's the future of gun control, right there. Once the guns are gone, whatever tools are used for criminal violence will be prohibited, with nary a question about criminality or violence asked.
That's kind of a problem with the shootings everyone imagines. Gang violence happens enough that it can be followed, traced, and figured out. The surprising part is how much of it matches the training for knights and warriors in the medieval period. The reason why is the warriors are the same age.
Rioters can be figured out as well. The riots of 2020 had people that were pulling the strings, paying for propaganda, and specifically leadership to move the riots in the directions they wanted. The fact that Seattle had city council members leading mobs to each others houses was a tell tale sign of what was happening. They also had themed days and other tricks that turned it into a weird summer camp vibe.
Most violence on or by crowds can be traced to the two above, even if it was a lone person.
People specifically trying to kill mass groups is way more difficult. We harp on patterns but more than half the people don't have that mental disease, opinion, way of life, or anything promoted in both academia and the media. As far as anyone can tell the shooters did it on a weird idea that nobody really stopped. The only real increase that connects is population growth. It just seems like the ability to fall through the cracks is something like one in 5 million, which makes it an absolute guessing game on what will happen next. Any attempts to control it will make 5 million people suffer more for the off chance that the shooter will actually come full swing. The fact that age, status, mental health, or anything else doesn't match up means it is an absolute crap shoot trying to understand it.
even if litigation is unsuccessful, it can be beneficial
Literally "the process is the punishment."
Buffalo, New York, took advantage of the new law when it sued gun companies
There should be an industry blacklist for selling to law enforcement agencies in cities and states (but not necessarily cities in them) that pull this shit, with a threat of blacklist for any companies that don't abide by the blacklist as well.
I dunno; what happens? The only companies that I know of that really work for the government are large defense contractors. They're the only ones with connections to get Congress to pass laws to buy their stuff.
What do NPCs say when you point out to them that muh "gun nuts" and muh "ammosexuals" were much more prevalent in this country 100 or 200 years ago and yet there weren't mass shootings?
NPCs live in a fictional hyperreality. They'll say that there were tons of mass shootings, it's just that they took place in saloons. And each and every one involved the piano player's hat being comically shot off.
As America’s gun crisis shows no sign of abating, there is some hope for reducing the number of mass shootings and killings. The emerging wave of lawsuits against gun makers echoes previous successes against the car industry, opioid companies and big tobacco.
One of these is not like the others…
The door was effectively opened for gun litigation last year, when the families of five adults and four children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting settled with Remington, which manufactured the AR-15 style rifle used in the massacre, for $73m.
Ah yes, the Call of Duty inspired the shooter to use an AR-15 legal argument (I wish I was joking)
The families argued that Remington had violated a Connecticut trade law by irresponsibly marketing its AR-15 Bushmaster rifle to young, high-risk males, through militaristic marketing campaigns and first-person shooter video games – a similar tactic is seen in the Indianapolis lawsuit.
the sandy hook case is not indicative of anything. remington settled not because they were liable, but because they were going through bankruptcy. getting the settlement done before the bankruptcy would mean the settlement would be discharged also, not pay a fucking dime. there was no admission of liability, and the people didn't get paid because it was discharged in bankruptcy.
the lawyers accepted it knowing this, because they wanted this misleading soundbite that they won against a gun manufacturer. if remington litigated it, first, there's no area of products liability where a manufacturer is liable for the criminal misconduct or misuse of its product, and second, federal law explicitly declares this for multiple industries, including firearms.
It won't, I doubt it'll even do that much since the gun industry is a nice punching bag but if they were to relocate elsewhere then the establishment is fucked.

that's exactly what they want, in their mind their side will be in charge of the government forever
The useful idiots never realize that they're disposable until it's too late, if they ever realize it at all.

4 people were shot/stabbed in Japan this week.
Previously the former head of japan was killed with a gun.
1 metric ton of b.s. about ending shootings.
"Lawsuits against gun manufacturers hope to leave law abiding citizens vulnerable, while both the powerful and the criminal keep their guns

VIDEO GAMES MADE ME DO IT!

I can't bring myself to read that shit

will be thrown out of court and i wouldn't be surprised if they sue for damages
Are manufactures now responsible for how people use/abuse their products?
Shouldn't you be suing bullet makers?
More importantly, no one is pointing fingers at SSRIs and public school administrations.
