I’ve come to that conclusion but not sure how it will happen. Get rid of dept of education. Although did you know Reagan offered Thomas Sowell the head of Dept Of Education job? He declined the offer
No I did not know that! Though I heard he's gotten many offers and turned them down because he knows government is a lost cause.
And yes I was mostly talking about the federal monies that keeps people locked into their system, and the unions that control them. Obviously these corrupt state officials have to be removed too which is another level of abolishment. I think in some ideal system we'd still have locally controlled schools (they wouldn't need to be part of a "state system") but the source of funding will have to be shifted to state's or local community's responsibility in the long run. (think coops more than taxes) With competition and no unions, administrators like her couldn't thrive.
"we want to do this thing that forwards our agenda, that normal thing you are doing is actually (it isn't) the same thing but it is bad because it doesn't forward our agenda, here is some word salad fallacies and appeals to subverted authorities and social pressure in an attempt to force you into no longer opposing our agenda"
Which is more dangerous, indoctrinating all children under the same centralized series of ideas set about by a questionable bureaucracy, or indoctrinating individual kids on a case-by-case scenario through a different possible combinations of ideas that at least generally gravitate around truthful and accurate knowledge?
Worth noting that I'm only using the word "indoctrinate" for consistency's sake, not because I think the negative connotation holds any meaning with how it's being employed by this Democrat. (Hence why I apply it to both scenarios)
I browsed her campaign website. She also seems to oppose private schools and home schooling on financial and fairness grounds as well as a "For every 4-5 students who take advantage of alternate education, that decision eliminates the salary of a single teacher" statistic with no citations, though the specific page is poorly written and a bit confusing as a result.
they believe they have been granted "special knowledge" into the "true nature" of the universe as an evil prison, literally the meme- source: I made it up
because the universe itself is evil, no actions are good
however because they have their "special knowledge" they are actually good no matter what they do because they are working towards the only possible good which is breaking out of the prison
The example he gives is the celebrities and technocrats flying their private jets to have a conference against "climate change". It isn't hypocrisy to them because they have granted themselves an unlimited indulgence.
I wish Lindsay weren't so set on being on Twitter that he set his Gab to repost his Twitter account.
He's going to be co-opted in his attempt to reach a broad mainstream audience, because despite how well he names the diseases that plague liberalism and academia, he is a reformer. The evil he's describing has metastasized well past the point where reform can fix it, having set into every institution through the long marches Fiere ordered.
Naming the Devil gives you the power to fight it, but by aspiring to be a mainstream academic James doesn't have answers to the problems he highlights. The Ivory Tower needs to be torched, but James is trying to save it.

I suspect he'll give up trying to save the university. I think he's smart enough to recognize that we're playing a losing game with reform.
What's needed is a purge and a rebuilding, and this can be done with state-funded public universities, as we see with DeSantis and Rufo in FL.
I think he's smart enough to recognize that we're playing a losing game with them.
I think he still identifies as a liberal, and that isn't a position he's reasoned himself into, so he'll be a long time disengaging from that element of his identity.
Abolish public schools. Stop begging the state to let you raise your kids.

Great ideas but a huge problem is that as soon as you talk about reforming public education they scream that you hate the poor.
I love the story of how Sowell stopped being a Marxist because working in government showed him that they have no interest in resolving issue
Truancy laws were one of the biggest wrongs we let slip into our system. Because that's what makes education mandatory instead of compulsory.
gay commies always project

So she needs to indoctrinate?

This is the same state that took out advance math classes because it wasn't enough blacks in it
That allowed a tran student to anal rape 2 different freshman girls before removing the student.
Didn't give presidential awards to Asian students cause equity
Public schools would fall apart if people had a choice of funding them.

The Iron Law of Woke Projection never fails.
I haven't for a long time. Now we just need to convince the other 99.9999% of right wingers
James Lindsay talks about this in his latest:

tl;dw it goes like this
The example he gives is the celebrities and technocrats flying their private jets to have a conference against "climate change". It isn't hypocrisy to them because they have granted themselves an unlimited indulgence.
He's really been doing great work dissecting the woke/postmodern/neo-marxist insanity.
