The political compass in the west is so leftwards that everything mildly centrist is considered far-right.

How can corporations and news media be socialist? Excluding the obvious like the USPS, NPR, and such, independent corporations/media can be socialist by openly supporting and promoting socialism.

You don't even have free healthcare in the US? Well, actually yeah you do. Medicaid. The US is already a socialist country. Social security, welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, unfair taxation, etc. all exist. Kill all of this shit and give me my money back and we can start to talk about a rightwards political compass.

Plus they honestly believe the healthcare is free. But I’ve heard this logic from people who insist that there is no such thing as far left

It's so frustrating because there is absolutely a discussion to be had regarding why the US spends more on Healthcare (price gauging, unhealthy diet and lifestyle, among many other reasons). But you can't have a productive discussion with a retard who can't get past the idiotic notion that "Healthcare in Europe is free."

US healthcare averaged 20 billion dollars a year on just updating administrative changes to adapt for regulations. That was in 2018, it’s easily double that now with the Medicare/ Medicaid is forcing more strain on the system under Biden. The US still produces about half of all medical innovations in country and funds about 80% of all medical innovations worldwide. This doesn’t even include the strain of state laws that force hospitals to eat costs constantly or pass them on to patients. The mass conglomerating of hospitals is the intended socialism of healthcare, they are forcing private practices into non existence through bureaucratic red tape and regulations so independent doctors must sign up with a network just to not be bogged down with constant paperwork. This is just the tip of the bureaucratic nightmare that is “privatized healthcare”.

A huge part of why American healthcare is "expensive" is because you can get procedures that aren't available elsewhere, that were developed in the States.

Sure Cuban healthcare is cheap; all they can do is bandage your cuts and maybe set a bone.

IV drips don't cost $300 in a $10,000 a night hospital room because America has the best heart surgeons. If so then maybe the people receiving those state-of-the-art procedures need to be paying more of their share.

What share? Actual state-of-the-art procedures aren't covered by insurance, and the best doctors and surgeons will not accept insurance, period. They've separated themselves from the system.

No, costs are out of control because Jamal and Jose go to the ER for literally everything because hospitals can't refuse patients. Demanding payment from them is like drawing blood from a rock, which is why they pass on the costs to everyone else.

Meanwhile, the people that aren't ultra-rich or gibsmedats don't know how much a procedure costs until after it's happened, so we have "insurance" forced on us to "negotiate" on our behalf.

I'm working as tech support for a medical billing company right now, and I can confirm, there are absolutely insane amounts of charges that just get written off because there's nothing that they can do to get the deadbeats to pay up.

Yep the bureaucratic leviathan is absolutely a major component in health care expenditure.

Exactly and now we have a society that doesn’t have the guts to say obesity is unhealthy. But I agree there is a discussion to be had about healthcare. Should start with diet and exercise or preventing bigger problems in the future

Or just let Fatty McFatterson go into diabetic shock after his 30th cupcake. A little natural selection would do the world good.

We do but we have financial incentives towards fatness. If the financial incentives weren't on it, we would have thinner people

They literally tank their products just to push leftist social justice talking points.

They are actually anti-profit corporations, in many cases, lol.

Very simple, they companies are being run by socialists. The most obvious being woke comic book industry, you can't look on how manga dominates comic book and then double down on woke. They clearly care only about propaganda and not profits. If a company is run by leftists, do not care about profits and only about left wing activism is that a "right wing" institution because it technically needs to make a profit?

How can corporations be socialist?

Well, it's very simple. You see, under a socialist or communist system, corporations aren't disbanded. They're either "seized" or they're incorporated into the state (Hint: it's the same fucking thing). That means that the corporation doesn't actually dissolve, but is taken and strengthened through government dictates, and more importantly, through government protections.

Corporations LOVE the idea of becoming a part of the state. Dipshits will call it "crony capitalism" or "state capitalism", but at the end of the day, it's all the same fucking thing as socialism, but these fuckwits don't like it so it's now bad.

Corporations yearn for the secure paycheck of government. It means they never have to work hard ever again. Competition goes away, and ineffectiveness replaces it.

This isn't complicated, but commies truly think corporations that routinely lobby for government market intervention support the free market, despite never doing so.

I don't think lefties understand the concept of Corporate Socialism. A giant company is so big it can be its own country. Then, it uses that power to make a place for workers to never really leave, and always be working or hanging out. Rent is way too high, so a lot of people are technically homeless. The entire world is the company, and the people involved can't get out because the company owns everything.

How would that be different from Socialism? Oh, lets add that the company gets tons of money from the government for 'unspecified purposes'. It's a government run company that runs an area like a socialist country.

Corporations are literally supporting government subsidized abortions so they don't have to pay for mat-leave.

How much more socialist do you want to get?
