On a rather unrelated note, am I the only one who thinks that it's utterly moronic to see that Russian tennis players have had a blank space instead of a flag beside their names in all major tournaments for the past year?

And same thing for the rumours that Russian athletes might be banned from entering the upcoming Olympic games. The name itself is directly taken from the Ancient Greeks' athletic competition, which they considered such a major event that they would literally stop wars to send their representatives to compete in events. If the "Olympic Games Committee" really ends up banning Russians because of their country's land dispute with Ukraine, then they're spitting in the face of everything the competition is supposed to represent. They would not deserve to keep the name.

It's just another case of cancel culture mentality.

Instead of seeing sports & olympics as an option to keep/establish diplomatic relationships and show people "We are still the same race - humans" blanket banning of countries leads to the opposite. Dehumanization of the enemy is huge thing in wars.

It's what I love about video games. You can play with people hundreds/thousands of miles away and realize "that guy is the same as me, even though he is from another country. he has way more in common with me than some politicians in my country - why should I fight him?"

And it's not even that they're applying it consistently. They're just doing it when someone opposes the foreign policy of the imperials. Every institution, every organization is just an extension of imperial foreign policy and its wokeness.

They wouldn't be the first, but it's extremely rare. It still would be a blatant, divisive political statement if they were to ban Russia because of this, though.

Ukrainians are such an entitled bunch, a friend from Czech Republic told me numerous instances of their behavior which seems to be the same everywhere else, they get preferential treatment and are still ungrateful for it, they're rude, and act like everyone owes them shit now because they're sacred Ukrainians and if you mind it you're a Kremlin bot..

Like this or not, but neither Ukrainians nor Russians are politically correct like the wussified West (at least when it suits the ruling classes). They'll just outright say that they don't want a teacher of the 'wrong' ethnicity. I appreciate the honesty and it's a breath of fresh air compared to castrated Westerners, but at the same time, this is a recipe for endless confluict.

That's exactly what it is, and that ENTIRE comment section is calling them out on it.

Well, it's the RT so you'd expect that. I'm sure the discussion would look a lot different in the comments of some western news site that only spreads Truth and Love... oh wait, they'd never report on any mistreatment of an ethnic Russian, and don't have comment sections anyway.

Context:

Reality Hopper: The students should be allowed to play their anthem and wave their flag. While I don't think this teacher should be fired unless she is actually pushing propaganda, I am rather confused as to why she was hired in the first place. It doesn't make much sense considering the demographic of students she's teaching.

More Context:

The teacher was described as a woman who has been living in the country (Denmark) for decades and is a Danish citizen. According to local media, out of the school’s 32 students, 27 are Ukrainian and one is a student from Ukraine who is a Russian speaker. (Emphasis mine)

Nope, just an elementary school.
